In a game of two halves, the mags committed football hari kari in 45 crazy 2nd minutes yesterday. Colocinni looked flat footed and very poor for once and in general they got an ass whoppin by a very ordinary Fulham team.

That said, I've always liked the lad Dempsey and think he would be a great asset for us in that lone role. Andy Johnson looked sharp and ready as well.

We on the other hand had a fairly modest performance but our cutting edge these days is the ability to score from all areas of the pitch and to score incredible, spectacular ones as well. Those 2 goals were sublime yesterday.

So the gap is back to single figures and we move on to the cup next week.

It's going to be nip and tuck all season me thinks and we do have that little 6 pointer in 5 weeks time? Lol

But they have the best two players to EVER grace the game of football, returning soon..Then they will will the league.

These two world beaters may be back quicker than expected also...as being as good as they are, they were unable to halt the march of the power house known as Zambia in the ACN.

saying that........we still won't catch them..

Aye you're right. Catch up is all we can play for though and I do still think we have given you too much of a head start to actually pass you.

Can we start the competition from the beginning of December? Lol

Haha. Funny game football. You've got every chance of passin us. The roles have reversed at the minute. We were very hard to beat early in he season now it's Sunderland who look hard to break down. Astonishing really with a patched up back line. We were torn apart yesterday. I was down there. Completely dominated the first half, second half we never came out. Over run in mid fIeld and picked off at the back. Just need to put that one down to a bad day at the office and crack on. Reminded me so much of what happened down at Bolton last season.

First target should be beating Norwich next game and if Stoke lose away at Old Trafford we will climb into 8th

There is a big chance of that happening and if we do that the aim should be to stay in 8th for the remainder of the season, if we can catch Newcastle great if not after the start we had under Bruce I would be buzzing if we managed to end the season in 8th

I watched footy first and I've never seen such a game of two completely different halves for many a year. If I were a gambler, at half time I'd have put my house on you lot winning comfortably.

I'd be living in a tent this morning. Lol

Biggest worry for your lot was the defensive collapse from a unit that looked rock solid for most of the season. Santon? Mmm. Jury still out. Simpson? Hit and miss. Williamson? Not good enough. Colo? Top player but he can't do it on his own.

Also, Tiote a huge miss in front of the back 4. He offers a massive protection and is probably a bigger miss than Ba.

I still think you are too far ahead though and the returning African players will be back in another few weeks (if Senegal play like they did last night it will be in 2 weeks lol) but its going to be fun trying.

Not sure we will catch them, however, I do think there is a chance that they will pass us, if you see what I mean.

Was a long trip home like. Just one of them you have to chalk off. Santon is getting better like but he is a natural right back. Had an off day yeaterday. Again with Williamson. Been fine since he came in but was off the pace yesterday. Blackburn away next after the cup game. They are looking better but our position suggests we should be winnin that. (hope more than expectation mind)

I've had too many of those long painful journeys home over the years kidda.

Thing is though, one look at the league table should cheer you up.

    For now. Lol

We gave them a 14 game Bruce bonus so they'd do well to let that slip.
If they finish above us fair play, we've finished above them 3 years running

It would just be soooooo nice if we can get that lead down to 3 points for the derby, looking at the fixtures its possible but its been a crazy season.
3 points at their place and to move above them in the league......if Carsberg did happy endings lol

It's been a funny old season for us. We've gone from an 11 game unbeaten spell, to getting 2 points from a possible 18, then getting 9 from 15 including a 3 - 0 win over Man Utd (something that probably only City will better this season).

If Senegal were as bad as they were yesterday, we may have Ba back sooner than we thought as the group stage finishes next Sunday. I'm not entirely sure if that's exactly how it works, but if they were booted out the competition, I could see him wanting to return to Newcastle to help out.

The gap has been as small as 6 points so far, and as big as 15, I can even see us maybe drawing level at some stage. I've said before that if Sunderland win plenty of their remaining games, they might well finish above us, providing we don't slip to anywhere lower than 8th!

9 points is a massive ask. We need to win our next 2 games and beat them at the SDA to stand any chance at all. If we don't win the derby then we have no chance.

Left it a bit late, but it's just about do-able if we win the derby. That would be a two-game start for them over 15 games, IF we win the derby. Like I say, do-able, but probably a bit too much. Should be concentrating on the FA Cup and maybe targeting 8th in the Prem IMHO.
