Let's all just take a back step a minute and let us look back at what Kenny Jackett has done for our club before calling for his head. We were all happy with him when he kept us up when he took over a side destined for league 2. We were all happy when he got us to the play-off final in his 1st full year as manager. The following year after that we were all calling for him to be knighted as he got us promoted via the play-offs. Last season we were gracing him as the "best manager outside the top flight". After what he has acheived and done for this club, do you not think he deserves a bit of a chance to get us out of this bad run of form? Have we turned into the Chelsea's, man City's, Wigan's and nearly every team that is in the top two tiers of football, who sacks their manager because things arent going the way they want? I ****ing well hope it is a big NO to both of them questions. He deserves a chance, not because of his history as a manager elsewhere, but what he has done for this club since joining us in November 2007. Even if we did get relegated (which I do not think we will), then we will still be in a better position than what we was when he took over. The fickleness of some of our supporters really grates on me. It is like they want to see us do badly just so they can be proved right. Instead of taking the other stance of supporting the team, wanting us to do well and be proved wrong. I dont expect us to set the world alight any time soon, play for a champions league spot, play for a top half finish in the premier league in the next few years at least, but I always hope for my team to win, back my team to win, no matter what the odds are against us. because that is what being Millwall is all about.
the only problem i see is that kenny has spoilt us with successful seasons whether it was league 1 or the championship.the reason i say this is because no matter how successful other mangers have been there has always been downsides & until this season its all gone right but unfortunately reality has now kicked in & instead of carrying on supporting kenny certain people are calling for heads to rolls. i'll support kenny through thick & thin - so will jb
I think a lot depends on where the majority of the fan base expects the club to be. Do they expect a decent mid table Championship side or even challenging for a play off spot, or a yo-yo side between the Championship & L1? It is hard for smaller clubs (and I mean no disrespect what so ever when I say that) to keep the best players season after season and when you do eventually sell the better players not all of the transfer money is made available to try a replace like for like, as was clearly the case this summer. KJ has proved he can do a good job but he also needs the resources to work with. If the players you currently have are good enough to keep Wall in the Championship he will get them playing well enough to do so at some point. If the players are not up to the required standard then very few managers would be able to turn it round anyway so you might as well keep hold of him and back him to the hilt.
Yes it`s a bad run, but now JK is actively looking for a striker we will get over this. Some of us have short memories JK has stuck by us(the fans) in the past and i intend to support JK during this difficult period. In recent years a lot has been said about we are all in this together ,board, manager, players & fans WE ARE MILLWALL We have had a few good seasons,We've enjoyed some great results . We've hit a bad patch, The players morale is understandably low, Now they need us to help them get through this Lets show everyone how much it means to be a LION
I'll never forget what he's done for us and neither JB either and I will back them and the club all the way as its the Millwall way as that's what we do. COYL - it doesn't look good atm but were get through this.
Dont think many of us were calling for his head, but if were in this position come january then youve got to be concerned. players have let him down by missing chances we were putting away last season, then again we had morro so we havent replaced him with the goals as yet but marquis has tried. hendo is injury prone but our best striker imo , ill keep the faith as anyone as its jacketts first minnie crisis but weve got tougher games coming up and we need to score goals, defend better and hold on to a lead if were to move up the table.
People who are calling for Jackett to be sacked really do need to sort themselves out. He has took our club forward from a relagation threatened L1 club to a championship club! I personally think he should have bought/loaned a recognised goalscorer, but these are not easy to come by on our wage cap. Give the bloke a break he has done wonders for us!
There are no standout teams in this division this season, anyone can beat anyone, there is a fine line between winning and losing and with a bit more luck our current bad run could had been a good run, if we string two wins together we will be in the top half, thats how close things are. The thing is i firmly believe there are at least three sides worse than us, so don't panic, we'll sort ourselves out soon enough, we'll just have to accept the play-offs are out of our reach for this season.
Don't want to see too much more of players playing out of position though! cos we did look pretty poor on Saturday!....COYL
sounds the same as the situation at wycombe ,fans have short memories, stick by your manager he will come good
evening mate very nice but a bit windy, that strong wind must have upset our strikers in shooting practice during training, they usually cant hit a barn door from 3 feet anyway
how ****in hard can it be to score a goal ,its big enough to see, maybe thats the problem ours need specsavers urgently
