OK Not to get carried away with a 3-0 away win to Leicester but... the last few games have seen us draw with Borough and Brighton and Beat Leicester 3-0 away, 5 points from 9 and seems like things are looking better, even though we have been in a bad streak of results, realistically we have not looked that bad! just sloppy mistakes here and there in defence and up top. we really havent been turned over by anyone. Our Next 4 games actually provide us with some comfort! H Millwall Vs Ipswich H Millwall Vs Coventry A Blackpool Vs Millwall H Millwall Vs Bristol City And in no distrespect to these clubs i see all these as winnable games, Ipswich have lost just as many as us! yet they are close to the top Conventry are in poor form and below us in the league Blackpool are more than good enough to beat us but they have had a dip And Bristol City are rock bottom of the league having lost 9 games of 13 cant see them surviving. realistically the only difference between us and the teams above is 4 goals! if we had converted some of our draws to wins we'd be up there. Its a long old season yet but i dont see us fighing for survival! COYL's
I wouldn't get too confident yet Neil although things do seem to be looking up. A home win on Saturday would ease the pressure somewhat me thinks..........
Coventry and Bristol are the games we need to be getting max points as they're our current relegation companions. Wins against pool and ipswich would help as well though
You think you can win at Blackpool? Seriously? ok, I know Forest did but they are on a honeymoon period with Steve Cotterill. I just don't see it. The other 3 - quite likely and certainly hope you 'do' the Tractor Boys
Out of the next 6 games, 4 of them are at home. that is where we need to be picking up the points. Forget the away games of Blackpool and Palarse. 12 points from 18 in the next 6 would be good form. Winning your home games is vital at any level. At our level it is 23 home games, win 17 of them, draw 3, lose 3 - total of 54 points. You can afford to pick up a few draws and a couple of wins away and that is mid-table mediocrity right there, even touching on top 12. At home this season we have played 6, won 1, drawn 4 and lost 1. I would say we were unlucky to draw 3 of them (Posh, barnsley & Brighton). If we win the next 4, that is won 5, drawn 4, lost 1. The Den has been the main reason we have been so succesful over the past 3 or so seasons. Some more stats for you. Over the last 3 seasons, not including this season, Cup or play-off matches, we have played 69 (my favourite number) home games. Of those, we have won 42, drawn 15 and lost just 12 games. Sorry to ramble on, but I dont feel like working today.
Thought you made it look pretty easy two seasons ago, and perhaps a little less easy last season but as ISOCBL say's - The form in the Den plays a major part in your season. Convert draws in to win's and teams will fear the prospect of visiting the Den once again
Thai if results don`t improve at Blackpool and we beat them, Mr Holloway could be the next victim of the Millwall Curse!
was funnier last season when we won the first 4 games and 2 managers were sacked almost instantly after the game! ha ha Millwall Curse strikes again! when we beat forest 2nd game in this season and all the wall fans were singing you let your country down i thought! he'll be sacked next week! but old McLaren lasted a while longer ha!
