Many a time we are like Victor bloody Meldew on here.

    When i were a lad.

Bloody kids know nowt these days.

    ****ing playstations (that'll be me)

Todays footy players are all puffs (that'll also be me).

But surely there has to be something you like about the world today.

Who secretly watches tv with their young'uns and enjoys it?

Who moans about x box yet likes it?

Who actuallt admits that footy today is on a much higher level than the old bootboys?

Who loves their Audi as opposed to their piece of **** Morris?

Cleanse your soul. Its not all bad.

I like being able to pause and rewind tv and record things at the touch of a button.

TV is infinitely better than 4 channels was, although a lot more expensive. The downside to this is kids nowadays won't **** off outside and build a den or a treehouse.

Football has peaked I reckon, probably 80's, 90's and 00's where we watched some incredibly technically gifted players fused with the advantages of modern tech and equipment to help them gain optimum physical conditioning. Since then it has become too political and has started to go backwards, players like Sterling getting his mummy to cry in sick for him, pathetic tuss. Just my opinion mind, I don't think lads (or many of them) from the 40's 50's etc could keep up with the elite footballers of today.

The thing I hate most is people moaning about things not being equal, nobody back in the day seemed to do this, it was a case of 'if you want something go earn it', now if you can't afford it or say a fatty can't lose weight by running for example, you can go to somebody who will do it for you. The work ethic has gone almost completely from the youth of this nation.

Teenage pregnancies really piss me off.
Broken glass, always where kids play and dog walkers go.
    Unruly kids.
    Lazy kids.
Everything in the world has to be politically correct :emoticon-0121-angry
Women's cooking has gone down 10 fold. Now they'd rather just ring a takeaway in. Don't often see kids eating proper meals now.
I used to enjoy having to go out in dress pants and shirt, it was smart. Better than jeans and a t-shirt, imo.
Drugs - They are ruining society and some good decent kids are falling to them.
    Music - It's getting worse.

There's some great stuff about being alive now, being able to get 20 of your mates to ibiza for a week on next to nowt, 3 hours and you're there, you might need a wad to spend when you get there but it beats a drizzly weekend in Blackpool hands down.

Folk who have absolutely no patter whatsoever can download an app to their phone and within 30 mins you're absolutely guaranteed a shag based on looks alone.

If you're nigh-on deaf, you can go down to boots and they'll fit you with a pretty much invisible hearing aid and everything will be fine.

If you stack your car into a hedge, chances are you're probably not gonna die and within 30 seconds you can call somebody to come and pick you up, instead of walking for 10 miles to find a phone box and getting murdered along the way.

But you have freedom and ease of travel which you use.

Can take the bairns away abroad. Which costs peanuts compared to the 'good old days'

    There's plenty of good ones.

Curing illnesses and saving lives that wouldn't have been saved in the past.
Like has been mentioned by a couple of you, travel.
    Internet
Digital Cameras, so now your private photos can stay private.
Standard of Sport continues to go up.
Racism is now very rare in this country and it is virtually non-existent in football stadiums now.

Absolutely mate, no doubt about it. Some of the stuff the kids have got now is amazing. As a child we had no TV. They were a new invention and we couldn`t afford one. Loads of kids were the same. We used a radio and our imagination. A tennis ball gave us 20 games to play.

No doubt about it technology has come on in leaps and bounds but has encouraged laziness imo. Physical and mental. So much there at the touch of a button. No effort required.

Don`t get me wrong, I think it`s brilliant for the kids to have all this information and entertainment at their fingertips I wish we`d had it but can`t help feeling some of it is at the expense of actually thinking.

To me it`s medicine for the real plus. Amazing advances, diagnosis, scanners, life savers. That`s the real winner.

The mobile phone is infinity better than a stinking of p155 public call box - then again why do people need to check their phone every five minutes wherever they are? You are not that bloody important or popular. Saw a geezer texting while having a slash the other day - perhaps he was trying to recreate old times - seriously though what is so important you need to text mid slash?

Also whilst on my mobile phone rant, what's the point of having a phone if you never speak to anybody? If you really want to know how my day is then ring me and ask don't sodding text me or message me on Facebook. I used to sit 10 feet away from somebody at work who would email me when he wanted to ask a question - I once reprimanded him for wasting time and he emailed me to apologise!!

Technology has killed the ability to have conversations and its only a matter of time before Apple disable the talk feature on phones because it is no longer needed.

    <laugh> Brilliant.

My daughter upgraded and gave me her iphone. Internet, apps and all that stuff. Absolutely amazing thing. And it`s out of date. <doh>

I remember my lad having a chortle at my expense struggling with some gadget or other. I said something along the lines of "Don`t laugh at me with this thing. Remember, I taught you how to use a spoon". Fair comment I thought.

I`m ok with these new things if somebody shows me how to use them. Figure them out for myself? No chance.
