On physically going to the Chelsea game: worst away day I ever been on - not the game itself, but the overall physical act of going to the game was worse then when I went to watch Leicester vs Oadby in a preseason years ago and a drunk guy tried to glass me. I went on the Fox Travel coach and our driver was a nutter, going through red lights, cutting people off and nearly running over people on mopeds - I think he was actually aiming for them (he reminded me of my school bus driver who did all that but went after cyclists and was put in jail when he succeeded in hitting one a few months after I left there). When we stepped off the coaches, we were almost instantly herded up by police on horseback and shepparded into the ground - it was an hour and a half before the game and we weren't allowed to go to the pub of explore the area a little and as I was a big guy wearing a Leicester top, I couldn't sneak off pretending that I was a Chelsea fan. I had a bottle of water with me and the stewards took it from me and threw the cap away before giving it back to me - wtf? What were they afraid of, that I would throw it? If that was the case, then why didn't they take the coins out of my pocket? I had bugger all to do but look around the ground - with an open bottle of water in my hand - and I shall never complain about the KP Stadium again after walking around Stamford Bridge. The KP is nicely finished with good paving and some greenery and a water feature (thats what I've been calling the canal for the past 10 odd years after watching Ground Force) but the away end of Stanford Bridge looks like a mess of multiple different shaped and styled buildings randomly stuck together so it looks like a bad jigsaw puzzle. It is surrounded by a overgrown weed covered old wall that apparently was part of the old stand but just looks like it was left over from the blitz or something (it might not be completely surrounded, I got too annoyed to walk further and find out because of the overzealous stewards who loved stopping me and my mates. I finally got annoyed after being stopped and patted down for about the fifth time (we are "high risk" aren't we) so I decided to go and sit in my seat but when I reached the turnstiles, another steward took my topless bottle of water off me saying that I can't take it in - why in the blue blazes of hell did they allow me to carry that around when they weren't going to let me in with it? The home support was the worst that I have ever seen and heard - they made no noise whatsoever and barely seemed awake at all. The only noise they made was when they scored and we instantly drowned them out and they didn't react at all - too busy eating prawn sandwiches to react to one of the best games I have seen (and I can say that after we lost by an absolutely embarrassing scoreline)? Aside from that on the game itself: Chelsea put us in our place - i.e. midtable in the Championship. We were completely outclassed so no complaints about the scoreline. Sturridge was my MOTM - everytime he has the ball we figuratively shat ourselves and Torres has finally found the level he should be playing at. Konchesky is a good lad - always acknowledged the crowd after and genuinly seemed to get inspired by our support. Danns is a dynamo - ran like the devil was chasing after him from start to finish and after the game threw his shirt and undershirt into the crowd and walked off flexing his pecs. Dyer needs more then speed - escpecially when he is up against someone equal (or maybe faster) like Sturridge. Schmeichal and Gallaghar had the worst games I have ever seen them play (both where absolute ****e at corners). Bamba is a liability - everytime he had the ball I thought he'd **** up and has been like that for a long while. Morgan needs someone faster then Bamba next to him. St Ledger needs to remember to get rid of the ball after he tackles someone. Wellens needs to stop doing so much and keep it simple as he is not Paul Scholes-lite (he is Danny Murphy-lite). Marshall definitely is one to watch out for. Beckford doesn't operate well against a deep defence. That is all I can think of atm. Please note that I have been up for 12 hours and am in desperate in need of sleep but I wanted to get this down first - apologies if it is drivel but actually explain why it is rather then just posting "too long, didn't bother to read" or crap like that. G'night y'all.

Chelsea stewards, police and the driver of my coach was all completly useless My driver skipped red lights, nearly crashed into a bollard and cut up so many cars Plus when we got back at the KP there was a coach behind us with the players on How slow do tou have to be to let the team bus catch you up
bigFox, i have to agree, it was def the worst away experience i have ever had to undergo, like you i have no prob with the match, chelsea were pure class, and we got a taster of what would happen to us most wk's if we ever get promoted,(and no that won't be this season). Aside from the 5 lines of stewards that constantly wanted to search us, my lad, well i say lad, twenty bloody six lol, was told he couldn't take a flag in, as it was too big,, and either had to leave it in the security kiosk, where he would get a reciept, or would have to take it back to the coach. Well having seen the shambles which was the security kiosk, he decided the latter option was the safest, but was none to pleased i can tell you. The general arrogant attitude of most of the staff on duty was astounding, and i find myself asking the question, apart from the obvious financial rewards, is the premier league a place us as fans really want to be?? i for one don't want to become a plastic fan like those we saw yesterday. The prem is obviously all about money, corporate entertainment and big business, we will never fit in, and i truely believe that teams the size of ours will never even be wanted in the prem, much like the likes of Wigan, Bolton, Wolves, etc etc. London is a nightmare place to get in and out of, and i do realise not all away games are as bad as an experience, (think ive done 12 this season), but for me, that was the last one for this yr, it has well and truly dampened my enthusiasm im afraid
I found that stupid. Going down that stupid alleyway thingy walking at snails place getting stopped every 5 yards to get searched and your ticket checked. The ground was ****. The stewards and police were useless. The concouse was tiny. I enjoyed the game an you could see Chelseas class. Even when coming out they would let us go sown the main stairs and they made us go down the fire exit past the players lounge. Their support was quite frankly pathetic
Fancy allowing Torres to score 2 goals eh ? Your defence looks to tight and hard to beat ? Looking forward to saturday afternoon and 90 mins with you guys.
Im looking forward to it too---I think our defence will cope better against fernando fryatt and dean mclean than it did against matty torres and aaron sturridge
I think we'll be fine against McLean and co Only 16 goals scored away from home Beckford has half that alone, and he's been ****e
When Torres was at Liverpool he was lthe best striker in the world He still has alot of ability but it isnt working for him at chelsea We will do with Fryatt and McLean easily
so thats a 0 - 0 then. then again what about Lionel Koren ? he is always good for a last minute winner.
now who is gonna do that then ? only TWS and Burnley have managed that all season long. dont see it myself as we have kept a clean sheet in 8 of the last 10 games.
Good as we have others who can score goals. You cannot just rely on Ted Nugent all the time. Hobbs and Chester having a practice tonight against Lambert-Guly and Sharp. So they will be tuned up for Messrs Beckford and Nugent. Its an AC/DC week for us. Positive Nigel Adkins and Negative Nigel Pearson saturday. Should be good.
'Negative Nigel' - The guiy who has managed us since Rudkin's last game (a 1-0 loss). In which time we've scored in all but two games one where we had 9 men and another where we won the replay 4-0. Also, we beat 'Positive' Nigel Adkins 2-0 on their own patch. Good luck, you'll need it
How my random rant about the Chelsea game that I'd written at midnight when I couldn't sleep turn into a pissing contest between us and Hull?
This was that man's view please log in to view this image And this was mine please log in to view this image And we both paid the same amount of money for it £30 and he only sees half the game. What a joke club Chelsea are
