The problem is the incidents preceding the crash. Maybe if Max had afforded him the same same respect Ricc had on the other moves, they would have finished the race - who knows?
Vettel: 2017 after first four race - 86 points. - Vettel: 2018 after first four races - 66 - points Hamilton 2017: after first four races - 73 points - Hamilton 2018 after first four races - 70 points Both lucked into one race win so far, but generally Vettel and Ferrari have had the upper hand in all except the first race. Mercedes really have to do a lot of work to get that car back up to speed by the next phase, or even the Red Bulls will be much closer.
you mean he should have just jumped out of the way like the others do? or bearing in mind his reputation, should Ricciardo have exercised more caution?
I need to watch to whole race as I've only seen the incident isolated, so missing quite a bit of context.
Happy to take the racing incident ruling, but really Horner should have clamped down on things much earlier. The two drivers had already nearly come together several times, the team should have intervened.
No I mean Max tried to run Ricc into the wall in T1 and made contact, and Ricc could have closed the door on Max into T3 - which he didn’t. If every driver behaved like Max we wouldn’t have any finishers, the guy has so much talent but he’s a fukin idiot.
Ricciardo also tried to shove Max into the wall between T1 and T2.............. He is a hot head, but it doesn't mean that he automatically takes the blame for everything he is involved in, which seems to be the general impression on here at he moment. I have ben equally as scathing about his racecraft in the past, this one has been put down to a racing incident, either driver could have avoided it but in my view it was Ricciardo's to avoid more.
He'd "licked the stamp", so I don't think there was any backing out of it at that point. Maybe should have been a bit more patient though. Still not seen the race though, so maybe my mind will change.
“Tried” is opinion, but the fact is Riccardo didn’t put him in wall and Max did hit Riccardo in T1 after the move was completed.
Just started watching the race. Two things immediately spring to mind. 1. Please stop shouting Mr. Croft for crying out loud. It's bloody annoying. 2. Was eveybody out drinking last night?
So after watching the race, I'm pretty sure that Max would have had to make another move to make that corner, which would be pretty close to weaving. Ricciardo was having to give him acres of room all afternoon. He's having a mare.
well, just watch Q and the race, no surprise Max has been involved in a crash, and it seems he's finally been punished for the weavy late maneuvering synonymous with the name Crash Veerstappen. He wasn't going to let Danny past, even if it meant both went out, almost ending both their races previously and 'lucky' that he can apportion some blame to Danny. Well, Maldonado won a race and mounted the top step, that should win any 'worse podiums ever' prize til the end of humanity.
He did deserve that one though, one of his very very few faultless weekends! Best forget what happened in the years before and after that though. Has Grosjean come out and apologised for blaming Ericsson for his crash yet? He was Haas' strong point in the early days, now he is a whinging French liability.
