After todays game against Fulham I thought ayala showed why Lambert brought him to the club. I no Fulham didnt have much to trouble our back four but i thought he played with great confidence. Will be an excellent player for us!

Agreed, you could tell he hadn't played in a little while, but thought on the whole he had a good game. Lambert never disappoints!

First half he was bad. Whitbred saved him once or twice. But second half he was better. It was an unusual back four today that took their time to do well. Still want R Martin at centre back though.

great touch and class, I think he did well overall - agree that Rusty could play at CB for the rest of his career, but I liked him back at RB - his understanding of the game is so intuitive and he just plays out of his pants wherever he is positioned. I think Zak and David will get better and better and how good is it that we have such promising cover at the back now. Roll on tomorrow, and a mighty win to set us up for the rest of the season. I think that last gasp goal today yesterday will galvanise the team even more - we needed some of the spirit of 2010/11 and the team in the second half looked more like the Norwich of the last couple of seasons. Does ayala's performance end talk of signing another centre back cos it was kind of like having a new signing in the second half.

Ayala was very good yesterday. Took a little while to get settled but overall was first class. There was one occasion 2nd half where he got caught in possesion. Now previously both Whitbread and Barnett had done the same and we were punished but yesterday Ayala battled back and won the ball.

Unlike Barnett and Whitbread, he can actually pass the ball, and doesn't resort to lumping it upfield as much. I thought he made a couple of defensive mistakes in the first half, but was really decent in the Second. Looks promising.

Let's see how he does in the next game or two before deciding if we need another centre back.

Looked good today, I agree with Hucks it's good to have a defender who can actually pass the ball out from the back instead of hoofing it. We'll have to see how well he does in the next few games but I haven't seen any severe mistakes made which have cost us this season.

at £850k, could be a real bargain! Terrific again, him and whitbread seem to be having a good understanding going now. With these 2 at the back a clean sheet could come soon i think!

With Tierney and Naughton back in as full backs, not that Martin has done a bad job but I've seen struggle in three games against pacy players in the RB role this season and Drury had a great game against Spurs but I think Tierney offers a bit more.
