Good old 1p5wich Town, forever living in the shadow of the Pride of Anglia. http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich...037?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
Can't see where you are coming from Cromer? you lot moan when we spent money, you took the piss when originally weny CAT 2, now your moaning because we want to produce our own which we have done for decades AND GO cat 1? seriously and no offence intended but have you really disappeared up your own backsides that much. Last night one of your own done the ultimate faux pas taking the piss out of the appearance of someone without knowing any facts about the guy, when he could have some kind of illness or something. pretty poor form guys, but i suppose if us going CAT 1 is the only thing to take the piss out of, then thats a good thing!
nope fenland I can't be arsed to get in petty squabbling and cause any strife just making my point, I just see what there is to take the piss out off? we are going down a sensible route to produce our own with probably one of the best youth development guys in the country at the helm.
Eek, I have to say that I think this is a positive step for Ipswich and I genuinely hope it is a model for that league and others higher up the food chain to follow. There is far too much stupid money being splashed around and wasted in the main (Norwich though are not in that category) and the game needs a reality check. This programme is a step in the right direction. Sorry Cromer but think you are wrong here.
I just find it more than a tad ironic that a year after Norwich achieve Cat 1, and our lads win the youth cup by beating Chelsea over two legs, that Mr Evans suddenly wakes up and cottons on to what a marvellous idea he has just had, that's all, Guru. Good luck with that (the rigorous application process), because the more youth team players who come through and make the grade, the less you / we will have to shell out on extortionate agent's fees
I haven't the first clue what you're talking about, but as usual you appear to be stirring ****. It was a jokey comment on our board, yet you take it more seriously than a German
Cromer, where has ME said this is his idea? so any club that now decides to go CAT 1 is following the norwich route? seriously? can you hear yourself? if you want to lay claim about producing own talent, i believe we can go further back in history (yes i know history) to claim that little victory!
if i wanted to stir the **** i think i would have done on that actual thread, I just don't think that was a perticulary good way to have a dig at the ITFC. but i'm not going to dwell or get involved in a slanging match about it as per my conversations a few weeks back with Dave and DH.
It was entirely unnecessary to refer to whatever thread you are referring to at all - it has absolutely no relevance. Ergo, once again, you were trying to stir ****. It's pathetic. You still haven't learnt. Cromer was making a joke. On our board. Get over yourself. If you can't take a joke on our board, stay on your board.
Whilst on about the subject, about 2/3 of the way down in the article you can truely see what a bad state we were in when the darklord was in charge, i mean fancy banning former players from the training ground, what a twat!
It's a good move for you lot Guru. I hope Mick can jolly well hurry up and get you back in the Prem with us!
ok Rob, you were probably right and i apologise for referring to it on this thread. still can't see whats funny about us going down the CAT 1 route, plus i feel i have a right to defend my team. no hard feelings though.
To be fair I didn't think guru was stirring anything. If this thread was the other way round I suspect a few of us would have the same reaction
The joke was interpreting your CAT-1 status as you being in our shadow, which given you going the Cat 1 route is after we did, is technically true (the joke being that it is obviously not). I agree it is a good thing for you boys and a good thing for East Anglia as a whole. No problem
Sorry I brought it up, but with no Top Flight football to look forward to for over another fortnight, there's not overly much to be talking about. I generally keep half an eye on dealings around the Portaloo - I'm sure there are (a few?) ITFC fans who follow our every move as well. It's an inherent trait, where local rivalry is concerned No wish to cause offence to you or your club Guru, and as I said the benefits will far outweigh the initial costs of being approved for top category status. And just because Cat 1 means scrapping the 90 minute travelling rule.....keep yer paws off the Murphy twins
