Please spare a thought, and a prayer if you're that way inclined, for the families of the two lads who died in the terrible car crash on Canford Lane, Westbury On Trym. I knew one of them, Sam who was a huge City fan and I also know Danny who is BCFC through and through, he's fighting for his life in Hospital right now although it doesn't look good for him. Yeah terrible news that I go past that area everyday, spotted a little area where they laid out flowers and messages for the both of them
It's a bad spot for accidents, blind corner and dips and humps. many a time I've seen car go wizzing down that road, as much as I hate them surely this is a prime place for sleeping policemen or maybe even a speed camera ( by the way I'm not infering the driver was speeding ) . Condolences to all their families and friends. One thing that did strike me was that four were thrown from the vehicle, sounds as if they were not wearing seat belts! Rip young lads, fingers crossed a speedy recovery to the others involved.
All I've heard so far is that the girl who was in the car who did have her seat belt on is in a serious condition along with another lad I know who is serious but they are both expected to live. Sadly it appears that the driver was speeding, and I agree that some speed measures should be put in place on this stretch of road.
Sorry Delboy, used that road a million times, never had a problem, slight bend where the accident took place, i'm also not saying he was speeding, could have been avoiding something, like a fox, or a badger, which are plentiful in that area, but its a straight road, until that slight bend, more dangerous a bit further on with the sharp left and right bends. I also feel very sad for the young lads who died, and the passengers, hope they pull through.
I forgot about this thread until now btw. I'd just like to let everyone know that Danny is making good progress which is fantastic news, although his injuries will be life changing, he's managed to pull through. I initially heard that your daughter had minor injuries Ash which was clearly wrong information, I hope she recovers fully and quickly. Very sorry to hear the news. My heart goes out to all the families of those loved ones too. I'm sure all Leicester fans feel the same too.
