Fosu (again), Forster-Caskey (again) and Magennis are injured, with the latter’s hamstring meaning he is highly likely to miss the game. With Peterborough bound to be inspired by the svelte figure of Steve Evans, the away end at Posh could witness scenes similar to what we saw last season involving Mrs Sue Perks. Our injury rate really is bizarre.
We sign a lot of crocks at a discounted way and Mag is probably down to the lack of squad depth and over reliance on him. It's not strange, its dreadful organisation from the top. As for the game itself, I'm quietly confident we'll get something. 2-1 to us.
I took the dog out for a walk yesterday, wearing my CAFC beanie hat...... I now have a groin strain and won't be playing on Saturday.
Good to see a dog post from you again AHLL it’s been a while ....I thought you had been put off by the Zheng Zhi rumours
Robinson said today that Magennis has done his hamstring - a classic wear and tear injury. Lucky we have Ben Reeves who can play up front.
This is beyond belief! We haven't played a competitive game for two weeks and yet our injury list gets longer rather than shorter. Somehow we manage to turn every potential advantage into a setback. Ketts was saying recently that it might have been a blessing in disguise that our match against AFC Wimbledon was postponed, since Fosu and Forster-Caskey were suffering from 'minor knocks' and would probably not have played. Now a full week after that postponement both of them are still unlikely to be available? And added to that we now have no strikers. I read earlier this week that Robinson had the team playing rugby in training to keep them entertained. I thought at the time this was a great idea - after all nobody ever got injured playing rugby did they.
It also explains why Charlton are apparently keen to get the Plymouth game postponed. At this rate we will finish the season in August.
Mag has done well to last this long. He has no history of being injury prone, so to go out with a hammy acquired in training should concern the fitness team.
I'm pretty sure all of 606 predicted this in pre-season. The lack of cover for Magennis was bound to screw us. I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as some suggest but he could've done with someone to help him out
How can we play Robinson’s 4-2-3-1 tomorrow without Big Josh ? I’ve seen a few comments that little Nicky Ajose might get a start.
