The worst away trip of the season awaits a few tomorrow night - the Kassam stadium is a charmless 3 sided carbuncle located in the middle of nowhere. It is quicker (& far easier) to get to Manchester by public transport than to reach Oxford United’s ground.

With some of our regular players struggling to complete 2/3 games a week - Solly & Billy Clarke spring to mind - tomorrow night gives Gobbo the perfect chance to utilise his 13 man squad.

Ben “Lord Lucan” Reeves to start, and Mark “Shergar” Marshall to come off the bench at some point.

It's true of the entire town. So maddeningly difficult to get anywhere, you have to conclude they just don't want people to visit.

I like Oxford, shame the transport problems make it a no-no for a midweek game unless you fancy going on the supporters coach, which I don't. We had a good away support for this fixture last season too.

Northampton aside, this was the best protest game of the season by a mile.

Shame the bloody ground so out of the way as Oxford is a beautiful city.

Still no Mark Marshall in the squad. Curious...

0-1 on 18 minutes, Fosu (who else?) and Holmes has missed chances as well. Sounds like a great start...

Arghh! 1-1 on 35 minutes... Christian Ribeiro, against the run of play apparently.<doh>

Let's have that lead back before half time!

    Half time 1-1.

Another half where Charlton apparently dominated most of the play, had a number of chances and opened the scoring, but have not got the job done.
The next 45 minutes will be a true test.

If we truly want to keep pace with the teams leading this league, a draw won't be good enough.
Particularly when we had the lead, but let it slip.

Error by Chris Solly for the Oxford goal by all accounts.

    1-1 Full Time.

Disappointing, considering that we had the lead but could not hold onto it.
But not a disaster. An away point against a promotion rival. Not much ground lost.

A couple more signs of the Duchatelet virus - a huge drop in the Tweets for midweek Charlton games. A couple of seasons ago there would be 100s on a Charlton night. So many of our fans have given up. Real long term fans.

This site is also sadly dropping off. It must be the quietest on here it’s ever been. I suggest making @lardiman a Mod to help fan the flames on here a bit.

So much for the delusion about growing a new fan base.

Taffy has posted about our dwindling numbers on here, how can we argue?
