I normally find the City ticket office a pleasure to do business with, but, today it has been a nightmare. I wanted to treat my City supporting mate, to a ticket for the match. The OWS said Chelsea away tickets on general sale. So I rang at 9am. No not on general sale until later. 1230 OWS fine, download the application form??. It say's return before 4th August. So I ring the ticket office, not on general sale yet....but the OWS says they are...no they are not on sale yet, try later. 3pm hurray.....online sales open.... I already have a ticket for the Shed Upper..so lets see.....oh dear me only Shed Lower available...but the selection box only has Shed Upper...but the price is £47 (the Shed lower price) so....I buy a Shed Lower ticket by clicking on a Shed Upper tick box...then when I register my card (again) the address field goes bonkers and repeats my house number (making it a six digit number instead of a two) and the card gets rejected four times. Still my mate now has a ticket, only thing is that because of the house number issue, it's only available to collect!
Just watch it on telly and take him to Orient instead. EDIT: Didn't see that last sentence - get someone to send them first class to you
I just email them my bank details and tell them what I want... Every now and then they would say please fill the form in and I would reply telling them I couldn't because I was working away from home with only my phone (which was true most of the time). Always sent me the tickets still.
Luckily for the Hull City fans who are being priced out of games the away games @ Chelsea and Manchester City are Live on tv. Sky and BT sport respectively. Save your cash for the less glamorous games such as Newcastle - Everton maybe.
The less glamorous games like Newcastle and Everton. How quickly we forget where we were not so very long ago!
As I have said before, in relative terms it is cheaper for me to go to Chelsea than Newcastle. In fact it's cheaper for me to go to Stamford Bridge and watch than get to the KC. KC 500 miles fuel £70.00 Chelsea £50.00 train fare £15.00. £65.00
Have to say my experiences with the Ticket Office have generally been very good. Maybe I've just been lucky. Tell you what though, I think £50 notes for Chelsea and £41 for Man City is taking the piss. Sky and BT have pumped millions into the game with their recent deals, so how come the prices are this much. I think this is when many 'ordinary' fans will start getting priced out of the game. It goes against the grain but I'm ****ed if I'm paying that much to another club to watch City, on top of travel / food etc. Ferriby will be getting a lot of my custom this season when City are away.
I'm with Arnold here, personally my meetings with the ticket office have been alright. A few of my mates on the other hand have had all sorts of problems.
