Just been thinking, if there's enough of us regulars on here go to away games we could get together and hire a coach ourselves. It would work out quite a bit cheaper than travelling with one of the coach companies. Anybody interested?
I'm not sure we've got enough posters anymore in total for a coach, never mind posters who go to away games!
Could be right there but the slump wont go on forever. Would you be interested in putting our own coach on if you did go to away games?
Yes I would. Been a while since I was at an away game though. I think my last one would have been Goodison a good few years ago - the year we missed a pen and got beat 2-0 I think. I used to get tickets off an Everton mate and used to go every year sat in with the home fans. Never had any bother off them and never hid that I was a Newcastle fan. Need to pay off my debts before I can even get to more than the odd home game now though. One day.....
Goodison isn't the best of Stadiums, falling down a bit. I go every season but there was one year I bumped into Howard Kendall who played for the same team as me as a youngster and he invited me to go into the directors box. I'd have felt a bit out of place with my B&W top on so declined the offer.
One of the very few that still has a restricted view from the main stand. It's not so bad behind either of the goals, though I've yet to experience what its like in that corner they stick the away fans down in.
Anfield probably has a more restricted view from the away supporters point of view, it's also falling down and you feel as if you're going to go through the floor.
I've only ever been in with the away fans once and that was at Oakwell, about 25 years ago. Was down visiting my gf who was at teacher training college in Ambleside and we went for a drive in the country cos it was a nice day. I have no idea how we ended up in Barnsley on our nice little drive, but it was a handy coincidence since we were away to them that day. I was allowed to pay at the gate and we had the full end behind one of the goals. Usually I'm in with the home fans cos I can't get away tickets, and in all the times I've been doing that for nearly 30 years I've never had any bother. On the day I was in with our fans I had my wallet nicked and when my inhaler fell out my pocket the orangutan next to me took great pleasure in planting his doc martins on it and smashing it into little pieces. At least we won tho!
It was still standing when I was there and we were on open terracing, so I've no idea what its like now.
Don't suppose it's changed much. Still open terracing the last time I was there and I somehow can't see that they'd have done anything about it. I don't think they could afford to.
Used to like going down to the Reebok, was **** when I saw us lose 5-1 there. Would be up for it depending on the game.
