I won't be going to the Liverpool game this year, the first time in a lot of years I haven't gone for it. I did see one of the guy's that runs the coaches to the away games at the match yesterday though and he reckons he's got a full coach going. I will be going to the Southampton and Stoke City games though and if anybody's interested and needs to find travel, I'll ask him what kind of seating he's got available for those games. The price is very reasonable, he just charges for the cost of the coach and a small sum for the overheads. Pick up points are at SJP and Washington Services and sometimes as far down the road as Wetherby. It might be a put off for some, but no booze is allowed on the coaches. A police warning has been given that coaches will be stopped and searched for booze and any booze found will be confiscated and the coach will be turned round and sent back to Newcastle. You won't be very popular with a coach load of fans that can't make it to the game if you can't do without a drink till you get to the ground and end up getting everybody sent home without seeing a game they've paid to see plus the cost of the travel.
blimey.. Southampton is a hell of a trek. I'm sure there are cheap flights down to that neck of the woods if you are looking for a plan B.
Not that bad really, time flies. For anybody that hasn't been to the Dell, it's a worthwhile trip, the stadium is a bit on the old side but it's got loads of character and a great atmosphere. Real fans too.
Southampton, way too far for a road trip, almost as bad as Plymouth, not for the faint hearted, even if you have an overnight stay.
Done it a few times, didn't mind it at all. Same when we played Pompey, a long hike to a falling down Stadium, but a great atmosphere and great fans.
