As the thread title suggests, on Saturday there were a number of Barnsley fans in the box behind me on Saturday. Now this is of course fine if they manage to keep their decorum, which they did until they went 1-0 up, then they decided to start goading us fans directly in front of them by countering whatever moans we made at the ref and their timewasting players. Then at the final whistle, one in particular decided to try and wind us up again, unfortunately i'm not strong enough after a loss to not bite back, so he got an earful.

My question is what are your thoughts on this, people will say 'rugby fans sit together' and that's fine, but we all know that rugby is entirely different to football, as are the supporters. I don't agree with it at all, box or not why should i as a season ticket holder have an away fan behind me? Not on in my opinion and i am considering notifying the club accordingly.

I'm never one for opposition supporters sitting in a tier above visitors/hosts. It always appears to be a cocktail bordering trouble, when banter overflows.

Wolves away was a typical example of that. What makes it even more frustrating in the modern game is football followers are subject to all sorts of restrictions and checks, yet the powers in charge find these type of seating/standing combinations acceptable. Which i find strange considering the lessons of bygone days.

I have no problem with mixing with fellow supporters but that would be a matter of personal choice, not one of individuals unknown, so i agree with your comments GmAD in principle of said situation.
