Wondering if there are any stats or pages on the web publishing the average position for each club in the football league? Essentially the stat would take the position the club finished each year since formation, and average it. e.g. Man Utd 9th, West Brom 27th, etc, etc. Clearly no one could be 1, 2, etc since you would have to win the league every year to achieve this - but it would give a good indication of the levels clubs have consitsently played at since formation. It could also then be turned into a league table of hierarchy of all league clubs. Im sure i remember hearing something about a decade ago saying Arsenal were the most consistent / successful team in the 20th century - assume a similar stat was used to derermine this. So - anything out there? Would make interesting reading.....
