avb thinks levy is very hard to deal with, ha ha ,no **** sherlock
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas does not think Gareth Bale needs to go to Real Madrid to fulfil his potential.

The Welsh winger’s stock has risen sharply following his recent impressive performances for Tottenham and the rumours of a summer move to Real Madrida and Barcelona just won’t go away.

AVB has warned potential suitors that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would make it very difficult for any club to try and prise Bale away from the Lane.

“I think for a player to develop to his full potential, it can be done perfectly in this league,” Villas-Boas said.

“I think Gareth has that in mind, not only regarding Spurs but regarding this league too.

“We have the best league in the world in my opinion. The best clubs are continuing to attract the best players over.

“We don’t want Gareth to go by any circumstances. I have told you in the past that our chairman is very, very difficult to deal with.

“We will try to hold on to our assets. We believe that we have to hold on to the best players in order to achieve our objectives.”

I think the Glazers got infinitely more excited about Real Madrid paying £80M for Ronaldo than they did about him staying at Utd and winning more trophies. Levy is a businessman; if a big offer comes for Bale, he'll be inclined to accept it. But I'm not sure it's such an issue. Ronaldo wanted to move to Spain; Bale has shown no inclination to leave. Ronaldo had had three exceptional seasons in the PL and was 25 years old; Bale is perhaps still short of that level of performance, experience and ability, good as he is. Madrid had cash to burn; do they now without selling Ronaldo?

  4. [sigh]

All this silly talk about Bale leaving!

He loves Spurs, we love him. Let's just leave it at that, for now.

If money is Levy's only motivation Luke, he'll be keeping hold of Bale then. Bale is the difference between a CL place or not right now; Simple as. Now how much is, say, three years CL money? AND we get to sell him at the end of that. They are the sort of sums he'll be doing LDL, not looking at making a fast buck like the Glazers.
