Now that the Cardiff game is firmly behind us going into the international break, I was wondering who, from our sick / banned list, is likely to be available on 18th. Pisano - no. Wright - no (banned) Diedhiou? O’Neil - no Reid and Pack were both subbed on Saturday - not sure if they were injured but Reid looked uncomfortable. Good to have Baker back for the full 90 minutes. Hopefully Diedhiou will be available.
Re Diedhiou - from what I've read he'll be out for a few weeks Pisano will be out for several months apparently
one thing I have noticed is the number of knee injuries we pick up and in the game in general, we seem to get repeats of these in a short time 3 of our 4 who are out players have knee injury wonder if it is to do with "the fancy tricks they try to pull off?" in some cases or the start stop with quick turns you sometimes see on the training ground. would such training actually build up the joint or weaken it.
I never thought about that. Could be the Desi pitch surface? I know myself how a hard surface can mess with my own knees. If I play indoors on a hard surface I can’t play again for at least another week in order to recover. 4g or grass and I’m fine. Those guys are playing on it all the time.
BCRW ..........its a funny thing, walking/exercise/using legs etc on different surfaces due to age? I find it difficult to walk on level flat surfaces, odd part time job means sometimes I have to climb 16 x 8 stairs over 8 floors ( about 85 foot) .. there is a lift . but its exercise! after 4 or 5 floors My legs feel it so struggle and breath gets short! on the mountain you almost start off with a 100 ft climb and carrying a 25kg rucksack, it is no problem! next 8km is undulating and takes you up a further 1000 ft not really a problem! however like you, takes me a good week to recover, even to point where at one stage almost impossible to walk, due to lack of the exercise. Walking down is a killer on the knees! walking through the rocks is knee twisting /wrenching and I do so very slowly, players have to go at it, stop twist etc in the blink of an eye the g force on the knee must be quite high
Diédhiou is out for 3 to 4 months when it was first announced two weeks ago. Unless the international break is longer or we are going for a time warp he won’t be playing on the 18th
