So the BBC reports that the Australian FA may sue FIFA over giving the tournament to Qatar based on the fact that all countries were supposed to submitting an application for a Summer tournament. I can see their point... spending £25m on a wasted application for a Summer event does seem unfair.

I'm all for doing anything to do with ruining FIFA and/or Blatter as in my opinion the organisation seems to be clueless.

How many of you think the WC should be re-allocated? Or staged in Qatar in Winter? Or staged in Qatar in the Summer?

EDIT. How do you create a poll??

I don't think they are clueless, they knew exactly what would happen. I'm sure a few backhanders helped the application through...

OK, I'll be a bit more specific... they're clueless as to not realising the backlash in how they would be perceived, or how the countries might act... ie. Australia.

The hypocrisy of Aussies really is amusing. They consistently have a go at the 'whinging poms' but are without a doubt the biggest bunch of moaners in the world

cini65, I don't think they care very much. At the end of the day there is no shortage of countries desperate to host it. Saying that, the Aussies do have a point.

They have a point, but not much of a case. Nobody forced them to bid. Companies get requirements wrong all the time when they ask for proposals.

True, no idea how they'll put their case across to sue.

At this stage there's no way FIFA could change the host country, most of them have probably already spent their bribes.

It's hard not to get angry about the decision though, at the time they were talking about air conditioned stadiums and creating clouds to help keep the country cooler. I remember thinking at the time, "well that's not going to work". The selection was wrong on so many levels though. The one that upsets me the most is the way that homosexual football fans will be treated there. It's all well and good promoting this all inclusive game but it's all lip service when you give the World Cup to a country where homosexuality is banned(in males at least). I mean that should have ruled out Qatar from the very start. Similarly with Russia, they have huge problems with racism in football, they have significant problems with violence in football and they also have some homophobic laws. Why the **** would we want to reward these countries by letting them host the World Cup?

I'm glad the Aussies are looking at suing FIFA, the bigger **** storm kicked off about this tournament the better.

This is my thoughts exactly. Couldn't care less how much of a leg Australia have to stand on... I just want more and more people who matter to kick up a s4hitstorm. Let anarchy rain down on FIFA ;)

I agree. FIFA are a bunch of self-serving, corrupt bastards.
