Steven Gerrard is not the only one aiming to make his first start of the season against Manchester United this weekend as Fabio Aurelio hones in on a first-team return. Click here to subscribe to LFC Magazine>>The full-back has regained full fitness following injury and is hopeful he can join the Reds captain in featuring in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off. "Of course I'm delighted to be fit again and we are all delighted that Stevie is back," Aurelio told LFC Magazine. "He is the captain and a great player, and it is a massive help to the team to have him playing again." Liverpool will head into the contest buoyed by a 2-0 Merseyside derby victory over Everton at Goodison Park last time out. Aurelio has made eight appearances against United during his Reds career so far and admits he relishes the opportunity to face the Old Trafford side. "Everyone looks forward to this game; the clubs, the players and the fans," said the Brazilian. "After winning the derby we will go into it with a lot of confidence. It is always exciting. "It's a pity that it comes just after an international break because it means you don't have as much time to prepare because players are away with their countries. But that is the same for both clubs. "It seems like they have a new team with new players coming in during the summer. Like us, they all seem to have settled in well. They are in good form so it will be difficult. But we are confident." http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/aurelio-eyes-united-return
As long as he doesn't mind being on the bench as there is no way he will replace Enrique. Good back up though.
i think this proves one thing..... the guy is an eternal optimist. I mean who a guy can cope with the mental strain of all those injuries has to be.... but maybe just a touch of the lala land about him cos if he thinks hes going to get any games now he's lala.....
Robinson will be cover from next season onwards imo so I imagine he will move on next season, good player when fit but way to injury prone.
I think Fabio may be on the bench for the mancs,as he can play in midfield toK .hes nearly always injured, but when he is fit hes a very good player
I reckon we should keep him on the bench, and bring him on in the second half to score a free kick stunner.
