9EA8AB5B-BD17-480E-ABC3-E7F2EE1DD366.jpeg So who was your favourite character and have you met any of the actors?

I like Oz above all others.

He was the maverick... the bloke who didn’t give a **** and the one who chinned Big Baz.

This was the TV series that ultimately brought me home...

Met Tim Healy a few times as he lives near Consett and drinks with Denise’s dad Vinny in the Travellers still to this day.

Lovely fella. Black and white daft.

I saw Jimmy Nail in Waitrose in Jesmond recently. He said he loved the Warm Glow thread, he read it as often as he could :emoticon-0136-giggl

Love it, especially the 1st 2 but the rest were great too. The characters are all great, my favourites were Oz and Bomber but Barry, Wayne, Dennis and Moxey were class in their own different ways. Neville was a complete wet fart though. Even the characters outside of the gang, like Ally Fraser were great. Not met any of the but got Jimmy Nails book signed by him. Good read if you haven't already read it

I only really count the first two series when i consider AWP ........................... the reboots were bang average in my opinion with too many of the characters far removed from what and who they were in the original series.

My favourite character was Oz in his original guise ..................... before the third series when he appeared to have had a personality transplant.

In fact, for a debut performance i would say that Jimmy Nail pulled one of the greatest acting performances on British TV in series 1.

Also Timothy Spall was outstanding as Barry the Radish in the first two series.

Have just in the last 2 months re-watched all of the series on Youtube and they are all still great but do agree the first 2 were the better ones.

Never met any of them but like Omo my favourite character has to be Oz with Barry a close second. The Oz character just reminded of parts of so many blokes I’ve met over the years either on nights out or NUFC away games.

    Great writing and great acting.

First series was legendary, second series was mostly good. The rest were embarrassing.

First two series head and shoulders above anything else that was on the box at the time. Just watched all of the series’s again recently and still to this day S1 & S2 are probably head and shoulders above anything else that’s on the box currently...it’s a timeless classic. Totally agree that after S2 it goes downhill a bit but still class watching it and still bits of the old characters coming through but not as relentless as the first two seasons.

Can’t really pick a favourite character out of them to be honest, they all brought something different to the programme and it wouldn’t have been the show it was has any one of them not been in it!

So what’s your favourite episode(s) then? Mine has to be when Dennis checks in to the Hotel Intercontinental with Dagmar, that whole episode is just pure ****ing class!

Watching them on the Yesterday channel at the minute. Frustratinly they are heavily cut of the most controversial and best scenes.
