This would maybe explain the deathly silence at the Portaloo? Don't shoot the messenger, Warky http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/ipswich_...907?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
Just to draw your attention to another news article released this week that mentions Ipswich.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2013/mar/27/harrogate-happiest-town-live-uk-rightmove
Facts be Facts! The 10 worst I probably wouldn't argue with but the top 10 was a bit of a surprise. No mention of Norwich either.....
The county of Norfolk is so utterly divine that it was excluded from the voting options. Why waste time and effort voting for something idyllic? - well done on your bronze medal for "best of the rest" category, though.
I've seen some pretty amazing and electric gigs in the town. I don't think the Beatles had a problem getting the crowd going when they played the Regent and nor did Skunk Anansie or Ocean Colour Scene. As a former performer myself, this reflects worst on the singer herself. Not only that, she's slating people who have bought her records and given her a living.
I went to see Genesis at Roundhay Park quite a few years ago, they were supported by Runrig Who were brilliant, and Lisa who was bloody awful, not just my thoughts, all my mates and everybody around us all said the same! You are correct in your criticism of her, but she's right about Ipswich!
Love reading the angry comments . Reminds me of the reaction in the local newspaper when Badly Drawn Boy played a gig in Northampton market square and had a public melt down, he started swearing at the crowd who in due course retaliated the whole gig was full of angry tirades, he even threw a harmonica at some woman! I remember (many) years ago, at Reading festival the Doobie Brothers - who I like very much, were preceded on stage by Wayne County and the Electric Chairs. Who were so crap that they got pelted off stage after 3 songs, but the Doobies drum kits (plural) got caught in the crossfire ! Credit to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band for restoring some order R.I.P Alex.
Credit to them for keeping on for three songs, you'd have more luck getting blood out of stone then reasoning with a crowd of drunk festival goers. I went to a Metallica gig and people were throwing stuff about plastic cups full of Carlsberg how anarchistic and rebellious Worse I've heard from my line of music is some drunken hag asked a DJ to play Gangnam Style he told her to go away so threw her drink over one the guys CDJ's which cost £1500 each it was ruined, amazing he keep his cool! She got arrested and in court the played the 'I'm a 42 year old office manager on a Christmas Night Out I had too much to drink I've never been in trouble before' and got a slap on the wrist.
It proves that people in Ipswich have decent musical taste! She will do a lot better in Norwich as they like a one hit wonder up there.
We have Nik Kershaw who wrote "I am the one and only" for Chesney Hawkes Lisa Stansfield though... She is just embarassing herself with those comments. She obviously needs to shift a few albums!
