With two Triple-Dares being played, one withdrawal, a non-runner and four new players, we have a lot of changes to the table this week.

The big winner is pompeymeowth, who played and won his Triple-Dare, meaning his score (which was already the best, after discounts) was halved to just 4,966. This sees him jump from 9th to 3rd in the table.
guitartrax failed to post and, because of multiples involved, racked up 553,080, which sees him eliminated from the competition.
I am the Herminator came off worst in the other Triple-Dare so his total was trebled to 76,155. That wasn't the worst total though. Singing Blue 3 excelled himself, losing a total of 92,180 points, which sees him drop from 4th to 10th.

We all under-estimated badly on match 3. Pompey_Fan_London was closest and he was out by 2,968. There were a lot of cards played on this game; none more-so than against Singing, who had 3 Multi-Cards, which meant his score for the game was multiplied by 18.

The best total before discounts were taken into consideration was Penshawdave (13108)

So here is the new table:

It seems that the phantom closer was about again last evening, as I had a PM from Penshawdave, who was unable to post his entry.
As the closure could have happened any time after meowth's post at 5:03, I will extend the 30% discount to all entries received today - because I'm an all-round good egg <ok>

    Here's Penshaw's entry:

    5299
    11999 J
    4999 P
    6299

    Devo

Thanks for that act of unstinting kindness on your part.

I had thought that Channon had found a way to "bend the rules" but as he is not participating for the time being I changed my mind.

Forgive me Channon for my evil thoughts about you.<peacedove>

How is it that someone can close your thread.? Only Mods have the power !!

    It's a mystery.

A few weeks back I logged on 1st thing in the morning and every thread on the 1st page of the Pompey board had been closed and some profanities had been added to some of the titles.

I reported it to Syd, but he was also at a loss as to how it might have happened.

A mystery indeed! And you say that Meowth did particularly well this week? And only Mods can close a thread? Well, it beats me!

(Might want to check whether certain posters modified their answers after the final whistle. Stranger things have happened.<whistle>)

    Optional Cards

Be sure you know what you are doing before you play these cards.

Double Dare. If you choose to do the Double Dare you will be up against the player immediately above you in the table. The one with the worst score (after the Jokers/Penalties/discounts etc have been taken into consideration) will have their total score DOUBLED. Type DOUBLE-DARE at the bottom of your entry.

Triple-Dare. Unlike the Double-Dare, this pits you against the players above and below* you in the table. The one with the worst weekly total will have his trebled. 2nd place will have his doubled. One sly incentive to play this card is that, if the initiator's weekly total is the best of the three then his will be halved. If one of the others has the best score, his score will simply stand. Type TRIPLE-DARE at the bottom of your entry.

You can only play one optional card on your weekly entry.

8 out of 12 contestants have got the maximum 30% discount on their weekly scores this week. 10% discount is still available to those who post today.

Well those last four have blown their discounts.
Just a reminder to them, that a Thursday post is now needed to avoid a surcharge.
