Well some of us predicted carnage; some said there would be blood on the carpet…….and how right they were!

We are now left with 10 players standing.

Our previous leader, by a long way, garysfc, has unfortunately been forced to withdraw due to down-time he will be experiencing in the coming weeks.
Three players have been eliminated this week. Sa1nts and guitartrax were both non-runners and ended with rather embarrassingly high minus totals, thanks in part to chinasaint’s disaster (losing TWO Double-Dares and thus having his total quadrupled).

Don’t worry guys – I’ll be in touch before the next game – which may not be too long!

    table 07.01.12.jpg

Our new League Leader, Colin5164 showed us why he is at the top, by getting the best score of the week, with 10,580, although he gets that accolade by the slimmest of margins from I am the Herminator, who was a mere TWO points behind him. Herm climbs four places, as does pompeymeowth, who did the opposite to chinasaint and survived two Double-Dares.

For the benefit of any-one who was still a bit confused as to the scoring, I will go through one example of this week’s entries, step by step

    Step forward Singing Blue 3

    Singing’s entry was as follows:

    21657 J
    12657
    6570 P
    5670
    1657
    DOUBLE DARE

The player below him in last week’s table was I am the Herminator, who played his joker for match 1.

    The actual attendances were:
    27564
    18573
    5856
    5269
    3048

So Singing’s score is comprised like this:

Match 1: 5,907 under, but Herm’s Joker doubles it to 11,814
    Match 2: 5,916 under, scores 5,916
Match 3: 714 over, so doubles to 1,428. Penalty Card played so doubles again, to 2,856
Match 4: 401 over, so doubles to 802
    Match 5: 1,391 under, scores 1,391

    Total: 22,779

He played the Double-Dare against the player above him in the table – chinasaint. China’s total was 24,370, so Singing’s score remains and chinasaint’s is doubled to 48,740. Unfortunately, chinasaint also played Double-Dare, with pompeymeowth, and lost again; hence his total had to be doubled again, to 97,480, meaning he is eliminated for seeing his total fall below zero.

So, if we’re all ready, here are the fixtures for the 14th.

    Blackburn v Fulham
    Doncaster v Cardiff
    Bury v Sheffield Utd
    Plymouth v Burton
    Kettering v Forest Green

Don't forget you MUST play your jokers and pay your penalties, and remember, the Double-Dare is a two-edged sword (and is OPTIONAL)!

Entries can be made by PM if you prefer.

Can you redo this in Braille, devo, it might help me understand it a bit better

I am trying to take it seriously, honest ! <laugh>

P.S. Was Channonfodder the only competitor to submit his entry to you by pm ? If that is the case, in the spirit of fairness, and secrecy, my entry to you will follow either by pigeon post, or by morse code, within the next few days.............

That's 7 down and 3 to go; Rupert, Woopert and Channon

Doesn't that sound like a very dodgy 60's pop group?

Hi Devo - my totally random guesses are as follows:-

    20,022 (J)
    9,022
    4,022
    5,622
    1,222 (P)

By the way, 'Rupert, Woopert and Channon' sounds more like an upper class firm of Solicitors, to my mind, don't you know.... :emoticon-0103-cool:

Well, fashionably late and traditionally clandestine, I have sent a PM to Devo. Will Singing be able to cling on in the game or wil he be eliminated? Can Colin handle the pressure at the top? Will Meowth find his choice of penalty unwise? I think we should be told, or I will have to consult my solicitors, Messers Sue, Grabbit and Runne!

Well all entries are now in (and it's not even Saturday yet!)

After last week's total carnage, which saw three eliminations, there has been more restraint this week, with no-one playing the Double-Dare.

Matches 1 and 5 could influence things. 6 out of 10 jokers have been played on match 1. Every-one except Sweep chose match 5 for their penalty, but Channon has completed the set by playing is joker for that fixture. That means we will all score double points for that match.

Kettering v Forest Green is postponed, so their average home gate will be recorded as their score. Taken from football365 it is 1,552.
