Was it just me or did anybody else think the KC was like Morgue yesterday? Why though? With 18k Plus I would have thought we'd have generated a lot more noise. It was not a patch on the Cardiff game which was best I've been at for quite a few games. I could hear myself clapping like I was the only one in the east stand at times, same with whilstling loudly when they were wasting time. I thought the home crowd were embarassing yesterday and we need to raise it miles more if we are doing well like we are and want to make a serious push for promotion. I know sometimes the away fans can have an impact on our home support by us competing with them. What was up with the home support yesterday? It was weird !!!
goes back to the old which should come 1st debate, action or noise....1st half was back to the usual home stuff after the recent improvement, there was no spark, brady was subdued, the midfield was back to it slow, strolling pace, if its played like a friendly, the crowd usually acts like a friendly..rightly or wrongly...
I agree, it took a few Ref decisions to get the odd raise from the crowd but I also feel it was doomed from the start yesterday before a ball was even kicked because normally our little sing song of 'Cant Help Falling In Love With You.... THE TIGERS... THE TIGERS.... Normally generates much more participation but yesterday I could only hear my voice singing it and clapping etc.
I have to disagree, I think half the reason why theres not the best atmosphere at the KC of late is because the away fans following has been very poor. They dont sing at all. Although I must admit though, there is a lack of atmosphere at the KC but there wasn't much to chant about in the first half. But after the final whistle, when Koren scored, the crowd were singing there pants off! It was great, I even noticed South and West chanting a little!
First half the crowd was creating enough atmosphere that the linesman on the East Stand side was giving decisions he couldn't see just because the crowd was calling for them, definitely a handball and I can't remember the others but I do remember thinking it was pleasantly unusual during the course of the game.
It was ok when Koren scored the last goal. There were parts of the match were even the west stand were singing.
yes..It was awful....There were some guys behind me holding a mother's meeting and swapping recipes for Spotted Dick... Disgraceful
As a matter of interest and embarassment, they were even singing 'Falling in love with you' at Grimsby on Friday night. After hearing such diverse teams as Sunderland, Woking, Huddersfield (football and rugby) and many others singing it as their own, is nt it about time we became more adventurous and creative with what we sing? Amongst many other originals, they were also singing: "We p1ss on your fish" at Grimsby. Haha. And the average of the singers was about 13. Straight out of the playground, and the best we can do is regurgitatate that Elvis classic.
Hows about this? Some wag can re-do the lyrics.... [Edit: Or just use the chorus - "I got stripes etc]
Have to disagree there, there where parts of the match when the crowd where noisy. Admit most of it was the poor official decisions but my voice is rough today from the chanting and shouting at the ref and I was in the West upper
I had to laugh at the half time 'special' offers at the refreshment stall i saw. the only thing special was the fact that they were hand written by a five year old on a wipe board. I think it was £3.20 for gravy and chips or similar
if Koren's winner doesn't get them buzzing then I don't know what will.. KC needs some kick ass tunes rather than an old crooner.. what about Status Quo's "Rockin all over the world" or even Housemartin's "Caravan of Love" with the stand up, stand up part might be quite good.. but some might sing "buy a caravan in 'ull" though..
The atmosphere was awful. I honestly can't seen how anyone can say it was anything other than poor . I just got the impression a lot of fans just thought we had to turn up for the three points and that lacklustre attitude was replicated with the support they gave . Didn't help that Watford brought half a dozen supporters but it was still a poor effort on our behalf .
Concern with that would be more that it's a really slow song, Happy Hour would be more lively if we wanted to use local music that's well known, just might be a bit too quick. Speaking of local music though, didn't we used to do all of the prematch music so it was from local bands?
