    Afternoon chaps,

I'm thinking of taking my girlfriend to her first toon game, not sure whether to pick the EL game next week or wait for the next PL home game so she gets a feel of SJP at full flow. Haven't been to an EL game before, what's the likeliness of it filling out?

    Cheers!

It will be **** at the Metalist game, absolute ****.

It was **** vs Maritmo and Brugge. It was ok vs Bordeaux, but not that great.

I wouldn't take her to see an EL game right now, take her to the next derby game if you can get tickets. It's always great at a derby and the whole town is roaring.

Due to me working Saturday's I rarely get the opportunity to attend PL games and for the past 14 years have been going to pretty much every midweek cup game at SJP. Atmosphere is never any good against teams such as Metalist.

I'd wait for a PL game or the latter stages of the EL.

I took my girlfriend to her first ever Toon match the week after our first date, as even though she's a Geordie she had never been to a first-team game. That was the 5th February 2011!!! Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal. She's been hooked ever since, though I doubt she'll ever see a game as good! I have to say, the Chelsea atmosphere was unbelievable, even before we scored the third.

The PL match atmosphere ranges from poor and frustrated, to incredible, depending on the quality of play unfolding and opposition mainly I think. Better games to go to will involve the top teams, but with the players we have now I expect we'll see an awful lot of entertainment. A derby game is traditionally epic, but tickets sell fast.

    Areas of the ground for your consideration;
    1. Platinum club, very rarely full, has padded seats and a good view of the game. However, the atmosphere dies going from Gallowgate to that area because that's where the corporate lot hang out. It cost me £33 per ticket last time I went there. For that you get the aforementioned comfiness, no turnstile hassle, just a butler scanning the tickets, and a famous hall of great players to look at.
    2. Gallowgate. Best atmosphere in the ground now. Very reasonable prices, I think £25 for adults at present, with Student discount possible.

I would agree the atmosphere doesn't reach the heights during EL matches, however, as a Gallowgate-er it's still good. My best mate took his sister for the first time to our first EL fixture and she loved it, so I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's cheaper as well <ok>

Thought it was more than £33 for a ticket in the Platinum Club.

Just caught sight of this about ticket prices for anybody looking to go to the rest of our home games.

    A six pack to go

Thursday saw United attempt to cash in on the current feelgood factor prompted by back to back victories by offering a discounted package for the remaining six Premier League home games of the current season.

Depending on the seat chosen, prices start from £110 (£55 for juniors) and season ticket holders, club members and their friends and family are eligible to buy them.

I was at the platinum club for the west ham game. It cost £48.

My wife likes the east stand, but it can be hard to get (good) tickets.

I'm sure they were around £33 each, but I was eligible for student discount so I'm not sure if they were on offer or something. That area was very quiet, especially as it was the last home game vs West Brom. I think I have my ticket pinned in a scrapbook somewhere, I'll have a look. It's probably pretty cheap there for EL games anyway, can't imagine they'd sellout first like.
