I have just watched the team I hope will win the Europa League. They thoroughly outplayed United and would have scored a hatful with better finishing. United had just 2 shots at goal, though Rooney's strike was a good one. The Premier League, the best in Europe....... I don't think so. It's the Spanish for me.

Agree fully with that Proud Potter..

Cracking game well deserved I hope they now go on and win it! I think? that team is currently 6th in the Spanish League behind.. Madrid, Barcca, Valencia?

All those would improve the Premier League. And WHAT a volley that first goal, for me it beat's RVPs for Arsenal.

I think that's the first time I have seen Man U completely and utterly outplayed.

Athletico made them look slow, cumbersome and lacking in any invention.

Wonder if Stokie in Spain has any thoughts on them??

Sorry Nick unable to watch it and obviously missed an excellent performance I hate to say this but if they are only 6th and therefore in theory not as good as Valencia does that mean that despite our team selections and tactics against Valencia we did well to hold them to two 1 nil defeats If that is the case the praise has to be for the lads and not Pulis

That aside I have a feeling we might just "negative" a draw at Anfield on Sunday when I shall be wearing my 60's replica away shirt which might just even inspire a Waddo era winning performance

Good point SIS. I was going to say well done for being able to fit into your 60's away shirt, then I saw the word - replica <whistle>.

    All the best

Sadly the waste has expanded Nick but since my daughter bought the shirt for me last Xmas she was able to get a large enough size!!!

I understand from Potts that like me you are ex Trent Vale and as soon as time allows I am going to PM some memories

    Regards

    Stoke in Spain
    Bonas Dias ...

Erm, I think? re Trent Vale is where Nicky said he used to live.. <whistle> or close enough at least.
As for the Valencia result? I guess we did ok and can be proud of the two performances overall.
Brings me back to your comment re Sunday nick a draw etc. Well reading today's Sentinel Uncle Tony say's "I'm picking a team to try and win at Liverpool"
GREAT new's if in fact he does just that. I know Crouch is starting as too is Tommy S.. the rest of the team take youre pick fella's.

    I would go with

    Tommy

    Wilko
    Huth
    Ryan
    Wilson

    Pennant
    Palacios
    Whelan
    Ehterington

    Crouch
    Jerome

Have a great weekend and ENJOY the game too!

  9. Disappointed I will not be there on Sunday as we are going away for a couple of days.

So I think TP will select the team will as:

    Shawcross
    Huth
    Wilson

    Shotton
    Whitehead
    Whelan
    Ethrington

    Crouch
    Walters

    I would like to see

    Asmir

    Wilko
    Shawcross
    Huth
    Wilson

    Pennant
    Palacios
    Whelan
    Ethrington

    Crouch
    Jerome

    Subs

    Asmir
    Shotton
    Whitehead
    Walters
    Arismendi

All the best to the lads on Sunday!!!!!!

Didn't see that one Cris, so no Arismendi - shame but typical Pulis.

Potts and SIS, I was born in Glasgow <yikes>, left when I was 5, from 5 till 13, lived in Newcastle U Lyme - Kimberley Road - opposite The Hanging Gate.

    All the best

  12. Guys my edit was that Arismendi was out on loan. Disappointed by that!

NB. My family grew up in 14 Hassam Parade, Wolstanto overlooking the golf course.
