Alain de Botton, the philosopher and writer, has proposed constructing a 150ft tower in the heart of the capitalâs financial district to celebrate atheism as a positive force. However, the idea has been condemned by Richard Dawkins, the evolutionary biologist and author, as a waste of money and a contradiction of terms. A temple? For people who DON'T believe or worship? What a mug. As a non-believer what on earth would I want to go to a temple for? For me atheism is the practice of not worshipping or feeling that we all need to gather in one spot and say "Hello, do you NOT believe too? Great isn't it!" The man has too much time on his hands.
