@IJTaylor81 IanJTaylor It's game day in Italy for #QPR @OfficialQPR. Early start and then a mammoth journey to Atalanta. #QPR #pre-season
R'S HEAD TO ATALANTAPosted on: Sat 30 Jul 2011 Neil Warnock's First Team squad return to action in Italy tonight (Saturday). Following hot on the heels of Wednesday's narrow 1-0 defeat to Cesena in San Marino, Rangers face a long four hour coach journey to Atalanta to contest the prestigious 'Trofeo Bartolotti.' Serie A hosts Atalanta and Champions League outfit SC Braga, from Portugal, will compete in the three team tournament, which starts at 8.00pm local time. Each match will last for 45 minutes and the R's will face Braga in the first fixture of the tournament, before Atalanta will firstly play the losers, and then the victors of that clash for the Trofeo Bortolotti. The mini-tournament will take place at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia. The tournament schedule is as follows … Game 1 - QPR v SC Braga - 8.00pm (local time) Game 2 - Atalanta v Loser of Game 1 - 9.00pm Game 3 - Atalanta v Winner of Game 2 - 10.00pm Presentation ceremony - 11.00pm
Goals likely to be at a premium as Atalanta take on QPR Football betting fans will know that Atalanta versus QPR is unlikely to be a goal-fest. Latest odds Under 2.5 goals scored 83/100 QPR’s preparations for the start of the Premier League season continue with a match against Atalanta in Bergamo this evening. The Hoops are slowly moving through the gears as they plan for life in the top flight of English football, while something similar could be said for their Italian hosts this evening. Neil Warnock’s side have already played five friendlies this summer, although four of their opponents were never likely to cause the Hoops too many problems. Before a game against Serie A side Cesesna, QPR notched wins against Harrow Borough, Tavistock, Plymouth Argyle and Bodmin Town. Cesesna therefore provided a significantly sterner test, as demonstrated by QPR’s 1-0 defeat. Similarly, Atalanta are likely to offer a more exacting workout than the likes of Tavistock, with the Lombardy side considered 83/100 favourites to win the match in bwin’s 3Way football betting market. A QPR win is priced at 14/5 while a draw is available at odds of 23/10. The fact that Atalanta are also preparing for life in the top flight after winning their domestic second-tier championship means a punt on QPR to avoid defeat, available at odds of 4/5 in bwin’s double-chance market, could reap dividends. However, the best bet could be on there to be fewer than 2.5 goals at odds of 83/100. A successful £25 free bet on there to be no more than two goals in the game, available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account, would return £45.75. This betting tip is based on the fact that both Atalanta and QPR had the best defensive records in their leagues last year, conceding an average of just 0.83 and 0.70 goals per match respectively. these will be a good test of abilities, Atalanta are probably slightly worse than Cesena, they also came 1st in the 2nd teir just like us...the big test is Braga though, Europa League FINALISTS and regulary in top 4 of Liga Sagres
First post, hope to last longer than the three days before I got banned on the old 606! Anyone here know if tonight's game is on Italian satellite TV (HotBird), possibly local TV, something like TeleBergamo or whatever it maybe called?
Cheers Northolt, having worked for decades in Italy and missed QPR's glory days as a result tonight's game interests me. Shame it's only Atalanta, would have loved to to see the R's put one over some Italian teams I could mention...!
