Cast your mind back to earlier this year and let us remind ourselves of the pressing issues/thoughts.

    1. Barton. " Why are we giving away our best player" , " we are a selling club", "why don't we give him the 3 year deal he craves" " Barton hero worshipped by the fans"
FACT: We sold a trouble maker who played up to the fans and pissed off the bloke who paid his wages. Took to twitter relentlessly to slag off policy of club. Looked after No1.

    2. Nolan. " Where are we going to get his goals from now?" " why are we selling club captain?" " He's great for dressing room morale" " Offer the bloke a new contract"
FACT: He signed for WHU for 5 years and an EXTRA £800,000 a year. He was well past his best. Assisted with the Carroll transfer by having his own agent act for Liverpool thereby cutting out AC agent.

    3. Pardew. " The bloke's got gambling debts" " he's up Ashley's a*se", " he isn't replacing our talent"
FACT: Best start in ages, defence coached daily, gets best out of players, refuses to get carried away, probably gets Ashley to do most things eventually once he proves it.

    4. Ashley: " eats children", " c*nt", "has raped the club"
FACT: Got off to dodgy start employing his mates, took advice from ill-informed people, saved us from being Leeds, took the huff with the fans, cannot communicate, put fiscal regimes in place to balance books, stopped trophy signings, underestimated what he bought......forgot the club is forever, he is a caretaker

Point is we are better off now than a year ago and hopefully will be even better after Jan window. Best start in years.

    HTL.

    1) Eating my words on Barton, wanted to keep him.
    2) Was always fine with Nolan leaving
    3) Eating my words on Pardew, doing a stellar job
    4) Still hate the fat ****.

Point 4 isn't quite correct, he only eats children when there isn't any pies available.

    1. Still regard the decision not to offer Barton a contract, with the consequent acrimony and subsequnet loss on a free transfer, as an incredibly stupid and inept management decision. Perhaps letting him go made sense in August: ****ing things up that badly in February March was stupid. He's a great player, liked Pardew and was a regular starter until he left.

    2. Never was that fussed

3 Never slagged off Pardew, though wasn't entusiastic

    4. Has made some decent financial decisions, and some pointless pieces of idiocy, as per item 1. Was truly awful for the first year or so, is improving. I retract nothing I have said about him, ssome of which has been mildly positive

    1) I was correct
    2) I was correct
    3) I was correct saying give him time to make this his squad.
    4) Erm. His fiscal planning has been of benefit to the club but did we really have to go via:
    a) Kinnear
    b) Relegation

I think Nolan and Barton both realised they would leave, so that made their decisions easier. I don't think we would have sold Nolan if he didn't want to leave. We got what we spent for him. He would have still been playing instead of Best I think, behind the striker. We're doing alright. Barton I never liked, he was good on his day, but by no means a world beater and really worth the trouble and noise he makes. He's not looking anything special at QPR and I just know soon he's going to start irritating people down there (Taraabt).

3... wasn't sceptic when Pardew came, but didn't really see it as a step up from Hughton. He's impressed me though, I like him.

    4. Ashley was totally clueless when he bought the club, he's learned the ropes and probably still is learning, made some awfully bad decisions in the past and might yet.

Joe Kinnear... brilliant. What a time that was.

    1) I was furious when Barton left, but it turns out it's done us some good.
    2) I was a bit gutted when Nolan left, still thought he had goals in him and we honestly didn't know how good all our new players were going to be. Again, hasn't caused a single problem for us.
    3) I wasn't inspired by Pardew, but I always thought we should give him a chance and thought he was really good last season.
    4) Like I've said before, Ashley will need to do a lot for that niggling little feeling that something awful is about to happen to go away.

Out of interest, why do you think it's done us some good ?

We're obviously getting by fine without him, and he might or might not have kept obertan out of the squad if he were here, but why do you think we're betteer without him in the squad ?

Well I should rephrase and say "I think it's done us some good" because I'm not 100% sure. To me, it seems as if the players have a better team spirit. We all know Joey has a big personality, and while he was getting behind them on the pitch, what's to say he wasn't being disruptive. Pardew has said he was "100% great player, but sometimes 20% disruptive". If he hadn't got his contract sorted and was still playing for us, it makes me wonder how well we'd be getting on now. And if all the antics he's been getting up to at QPR are true, do we know if he wasn't doing that at Newcastle too?

In my post I merely said he was a troublemaker.......sometimes you can be good but forget your place..........he was an employee on unbelievable riches......to abuse those who supply those riches was unforgivable. Had to go.
