Don't know if I'm on my own with this but I really don't get this fawning over "Sir" Les thing........Yes he was a fabulous player for us for a few years and gave us many memorable moments but as soon as more money was offered by a supposed bigger club he was off and we all know where we went after that. I doubt that he even thought about us in the intervening 20 years, I maybe doing him a disservice, but he was always a Spurs supporter and he worked for the club he loved, Spurs. Sure he may have a soft spot for the R's but nothing more than that. He is now employed by us on probably a decent salary and has worked his way into a position of authority, fair play to him for that. I would have been disappointed if no one from within had not said something very forthright to that prat Pawson after his shocking performance against Spurs.....maybe he should have given him a right hook as well to make any ban worthwhile......or maybe not. Les was a good player but I certainly do not hold him in the same great bracket as others such as Stan, Gerry, Phil, Rodney.......
For me the only 'modern' player who comes close in terms of deserving respect to the blokes from the 60s and 70s is Alan McDonald.
