Its good to see that Cleggy has finally got his priorities in the right order! Its a shame that him & Jewell haven't got a clue on how to lick our team into shape. Talk about being painted into a bloody corner! You couldn't make it up.....! http://www.greenun24.co.uk/ipswich-...imon_but_your_team_is_a_shabby_mess_1_1168597
jesus wept warky! you've got so much comedy material at the moment you'd be a bigger hit than stewart lee... painting turnstiles?!?! truly bizarre
I think most fans know we have some fairly large problems at the club and no 1 thing will turn around our fortunes immediately regardless of whether it is a change of manager, 10 new signings, a change of emphasis or whatever but we certainly dont help ourselves when we come out with media rubbish like this. You would like to think that with all Cleggs experienced he would be a bit more clued up when it comes to dealing with the fans. There is a serious number of fans who would like to shoot him and he comes out with a cleaning story. I do worry about what goes on in some peoples heads and its even more worrying when your actually writing it down as it means its not an off the cuff soundbite.
Talking of bad PR Cleggy is still wrangling with IBC over the back dated rates issue. We can afford to lend Chopra £250K but it seems that we can't pay the back dated rates we owe. Eventhough I think IBC are being a bit unreasonable with their demands!
I hope we do continue to argue with IBC. Backdating rates takes the pee. Nevermind, it now looks like we have gone from having 274 midfielders to possibly having none fit for Saturday. At present it looks like it could be out of the captain, Kennedy and Hyam as all our other recognised CM are doubtful with injury, illness or cuptied. The fun of following the town!
Another great bit of management from Jewell in allowing Drury to be cup tied in the first place! As far as the rest are concerned they can't be much worse than the usual midfielders that play!
Mind you watching the new paint dry on the turnstiles will be far more exciting than any of the football we are being forced to watch on the pitch at this present time! At least paint can run!
I think Jewell was hoping that with players of the calibre of Leadbitter, Bowyer and JB then Drury was going to be a bit part player at most. It says how poor our current play is when the brightest spark in the centre of the pitch is a bloke who has played 99% of his career two or 3 leagues below us! On more interesting subjects what colour are our new Turnstiles. Have we gone for white with blue accessories or vice versa! Oh and in breaking news, Unconfirmed rumours suggest there may be a new recruit in the refreshments area at the next home match! Big steps forward being taken by the club now!
Does explain something though, I thought Leadtwat looked knackered at the start, They probably found a job that he could do half decent.
JWM, I saw this story and thought of you. Goes to show its not just us!!! http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7410687/Magpies-deal-saga-irks-Allen
We could of used the price of the paint to buy a player better than what we currently have. Leiston are flying at the moment, could've recruited someone from them! To be honest, I'm glad the majority of our midfielders are crocked, they suck anyway and I would be happier to see Kennedy and Hyam than the other useless ****s.
San Diego is right, Hopefully this will give Hyam a chance to show Jewell he deserves a place. Unfortunately i have this feeling that he will go with the old man rather than take the gamble on the younger generation. But this whole story smacks of how out of touch Cleggy is with the fans and the whole club in general, if painting the turnstiles is something to get excited about, christ knows what would happen if we actually won a few games on the trot!
On this or another article... Clegg finds out that 39% of EADT / Star respondents think he's the biggest problem at the club. It's the first time he's had that kind of feedback, apparently, he had two meetings with fans recently and they didn't tell him that. Well Simon Clegg I can't believe you have overseen three years of this and have never once questioned your position or looked at yourself, it's about bloody time!
We all know that Clegg is only at Portman Road until after the Olympics is over. He is the public face of Marcus Evans and is only here due to his Olympic connections and helping Evans flog tickets at the games to rich corporate clients. We can all see that Clegg is not a football man in any sense of the imagination.
I mentioned the paint comments last night, found it very amusing when I saw the article in the EADT, what on earth was Clegg thinking!
