You know how you inspire your team? You say that,,

"There are a lot of players at this club who earn far too much money," he said. "Far too much for their ability and what they give to the club."

"I don't really want to see the owners have their pants taken down like they have in the past."

Yep, you tell your team that they figuratively have forced the owners to take down their pants, and then your players had sex with them. If they werent going down before, they sure are now.

I agree with Harry 100%. Far too many of Mark Hughes signings have been more than just pants. Its scandalous what they earn for there ability and Harry knows that all too well. Fooook em all if they cannot handle the truth.

Harry needs too weed out those who dont care and get them to train on there own when the rest of the squad have finished for the day.

I think that you say what needs to be said behind closed doors. That is just asking for your players to lose respect for you. If they want to stay up, he cant be talking like that.

It sounds like Bosingwa is on his way, but really for Harry to come out & say that after the **** he did at Portsmouth is a bit hypocritical.

He makes a good point though and fair play to him for saying it. With the players the Dramas have they shouldn't be in the bottom 3 and watching them on MOTD this season there has seldom been any fight or desire from them.

I think it's one of the worst examples of management I have ever seen. It doesnt matter if its true, how does he expect people to now bust a gut to keep them up?

And if there's one person who shouldnt be chucking muck when it comes to finances....He's not called Harry The Bung for nothing.

I heard a story about a certain manager in a certain club, who derived a very good income fr om the property deals he did with players who earnt a fortune as the club lost a fortune. Nothing to do with our club, by the way. But when I hear managers complain that players earn too much, I have to laugh.

Think Redknapp has done pretty well in the transfer market over the years. The players he has bought have, in the most, been sold on for profit.

You can say what you like about what he did at Portsmouth but the club generated some £100m in players sales either during his time there or in the season afterwards

Harry has hit the nail on the head here. if a player can't be inspired when earning 65k aweek then what chance does the manager stand. Im sure if Brown, Dowie or Pearson had come out and said the same sort of things about Bullard we'd av all supported it 100%

We had a chairman who did this on a regular basis.

Everybody (except me) seemed fine with it.

This comment would have a lot more credence if it had come from any other manager than Harry (can I have the cash in a brown envelope, or can you pay it into my dogs account) Redknapp.

I am not sure as to which comment you are replying to. Or indeed which chairman you mean. Help us all out a bit here, give us a clue.

He'll be referring to Pearson and his comments re. the likes of Ghilas. Although it's a very different circumstance really as Ghilas was nowhere near the first-team picture and the club already knew he wouldn't be staying for the season ahead.

And as fans of Portsmouth will know, the players that Droopy signed for them were all on very reasonable salaries...

And all needed to buy penthouse apartments, which all devalued at resale, but the person who they bought them off was kind enough to buy them back, so he was able to sell them to the next players who the club bought. It's such a herd life as a property tycoon, I mean football manager.

Thank you, I wasn't sure if he was replying to Mel U and in some way suggesting Mr Duffen was involved in some sort of underhand dealings.

No Paul Duffen's story is about greed and even more greed not greed and corruption. Odd how a being fluent in a European language can lead to a new career as an advisor to agents or even a consultancy fee from research companies specialising in sporting medicine.
