Difference, we don't have a board, we have a dictator. Totally different animal. Anyway didn't Billy davies say the same this time last year to the forest board. Think he's unemployed now

SG would be sacked in a minute if he stood up to Bates

    So what if he was?

The future of Leeds United is far more important than Simon Grayson keeping his job.

If the next manager came straight in and stood up to Bates, would he sack him straight away?

Grayson is a yes man and the fans are accepting that, it's disgusting.

Well if we're doomed to have a yes man then at least Bates could find one who is a good judge of players and isn't tactically inept.

We've argued this stuff more than once before and neither of our opinions has changed. Might as well leave it at that.

Back to the original quote regarding McLaren. Bates himself was banging on about how we were after 4 top players in the summer, thus leading Grayson believing that we were really going for it and therefore he probably felt he didn't need to bring it up.

I also believe that Grayson would always manage this club under any circumstances. At least he gets on with it, cos lets face it, if he was sacked and we brought someone in who has constant ding dongs with our "Colonel Gadaffi" chairman, that would conmpletely shatter the team on the pitch, then we would be definitely facing the reality of relegation back to League 1.

Forest look set to lose their manager as he is going to make a deciaion on his future due to the lack of support, signings and ambition from the board.

Its the same old noises coming from Forest each season, no better off than us. Probably easy for McClaren to walk, hes had lots of well paid jobs and is never out of work for long with media stuff and coaching in europe etc. Different story for Grayso, hardly a wealthy man from his time in management and definately no guarantee of work if he walked from Leeds job

I think he'd get a job straight away. Henry Winter from the Telegraph who's extremely well connected said as much; Grayson's standing alone among the other managers would turn the heads of chairmen.

Just shows how much he wants to hold onto his dream job at Leeds when you think about it.

He's been offered the Burnley job and, if you believe the rumours, was approached to see if he would be "interested in putting his name forward" :wink wink: for the Aston Villa job. As you've pointed out Henry Winter practically worships Larry. Regardless of what some on here think of him there are PL clubs that would jump at the chance of having Larry as their manager. A couple of mistakes are natural at his stage in his management career, but we shouldn't ignore the fact that the majority of football writers/pundits/chairmen etc. see him as one of the best and most promising young managers in the country. He puts up with Bates' transfer/contract policy because he loves the club as much as we do.

He got both Leeds and Blackpool promoted on limited funds and led Leeds to 7th place last season and will do well again if we finish mid table this season. He has a great track record.

He's spent transfer funds on only 5 players, and is constantly being underminded by Bates' selling his key players, or letting them leave on free transfers due to wages. He outlines targets, which we miss out on. It's not him, it's Shaun Harvey who does negiotiations as Keith Andrews revealed, and it's Bates who sets his wage budget. He's working with his hands tied, which is why he's highly rated by almost everyone except some Leeds fans with bizzare expectations.

I'm more inclined - and forgive me for this - to believe one of the most respected people in football journalism than I am to believe bluememe off not606.
