http://www.squawka.com/news/ex-spur...ing-talks-with-second-tier-german-side/720004 Ex-QPR and Milan misfit Adel Taarabt dealt last-minute rejection after talks with second tier German side Adel Taarabt‘s stuttering career suffered another blow after German second division club 1860 Munich decided at the last minute not to sign the former Queens Park Rangers midfielder. The 27-year-old made just seven appearances on loan last season with Benfica’s B team and his career is still yet to take off like he envisaged after leaving QPR. He travelled to Munich to speak the city’s second side and finalise a contract, but instead left the training ground without a contract and with some scathing words to ponder over, courtesy of the club’s sporting director Thomas Gauge. “It was important in a transfer of this magnitude that you get to know the player and that we speak with him. Things have to fit precisely, but one or two things did not fit,” Gauge said, as reported by Munich-based newspaper tz. “It simply does not fit within the meaning of 1860 and we said that in such a case you have to be one hundred percent sure and we were not.” “I wanted to be quite sure. Now I can say one hundred percent that there will be no deal.” The Moroccan’s attitude has regularly been questioned over his career, with incidents of on-field petulance and off-field disrespect particularly common. His reputation seemed to have preceded him and the German media did not seem too impressed by the Moroccan’s flashy black and gold jacket, which caused quite a stir – and not in a positive sense. Taarabt will have felt disappointed as he left Bavaria without a new club despite the deal being described as “almost fixed.” please log in to view this image We haven't had a Taarbs argument for ages...and I am out for the afternoon...take it away boys, have fun. And if there is no blood and gore scattered all over the forum by the time I am back I will be disappointed
Very naughty of you Beth to start such a thread lol. I had almost forgotten about him. He has long left us but the great memories will stay with me forever.
What a terrible waste, was magnificent for us,but his attitude has ruined his career.People go through life struggling to get by with what limited ability they possess,to throw away a god given talent like he has is almost criminal ! Thank's for the memories Adel, but he'll never change and that's the saddest part.
I've liked 1860 since I saw them at Wembley in 1965. Historically they are the top side in Munich. I doubt that they will regret meeting Adel's terms.
Showed his true colours a few days after we won the Championship, slagging us off and angling for a move, and still many on here worshipped him. Has got everything he deserved...
Very naughty, Beth. I had almost learnt to de-Tarbs myself from the English dictionary. Now, I don't know whether to put in for a raise, quit training or ring Neil Warnock!
Unfortunately he's never going to change.....after all the moves to different clubs, managers and countries something really should have twigged in his little, self-centred brain but it hasn't and never will. Thanks for a season or two of some great (and some not so great memories) but he'll be remembered as an arrogant waster and rightfully so
Get him back as well then. And Derry, Gorks, the fat goalie, the lot of em. Let's go back to the good old days.
when he finally retires this song will be going through his head "Regrets, have a few, but then again, Im a fat lazy git with a god given talent that walked around with my head up my backside".......OK so maybe a few of my own words but what a wasted talent
The word retirement will be in the next Tarbs article. Sad, many would love an ounce of his talent. All his own fault, such a fool.
