I'm a bit pre occupied at the moment so I'm going to make this quick; I went to the West Ham game, the first time at a game on my own for years. I was astonished by two things that I heard from our own fans. Firstly; the constant griping and moaning about Grant Holt! Secondly; (and this is the gospel truth) as I was queuing at the turnstile I over heard a conversation between two men behing me, it went like this. I DON'T LIKE THEM MESSING ABOUT WITH THE KICK OFF TIMES, I SUPPOSE IT'S DOWN TO THE TELLY, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP SO WE CAN HAVE 3 O'CLOCK KICKOFFS AGAIN!!!!! Gentlemen/Ladies, I ****ing well give up!!!!!!
There's no pleasng some people. If they don't like having early/Sunday/Monday kick-offs, I'm sure there are approximately 2,000 people on the waiting list who'd gladly buy their season tickets!!!
I wouldn't laugh too loudly, Warky, the championship - or remaining in it, looks like it may be a bridge too far for your lot this season!
Quick where's surgeryman when we need him - JWM's has got a fever, is foaming at the mouth and is deluisional!!!
Only hald astonished here. Yes the talk of going down is mental this early in the season. However... Holt was absolutely awful vs West Ham! Miss timed jumps, crap control, jumping at players rather than the ball, the lot! When Simo went off for Morison I was astounded! And when Morison did more in the short time he was on the pitch than Holt did all game I was even more astounded! Thats not a slight against Morison but we all know Holt is usually our all action hero and Moro not as much. But against the hammers I really was disappointed with Holts performance. Now, Grant Holt is a legend at Norwich but because off his never say die attitude and, of course, his goals. So with this said I would never want to bad mouth him too much, but, like they said on the radio afterwards, his performances so far this season have been pretty dire. Perhaps it,is partially down to a lack of service, but a lot has been because he hasnt looked his normal all action self. Just my thoughts
Sorry JWM, can only help with surgical procedures. Your long term mental health needs a therapists special talents (or you get rid of Jewell!)
I don't understand the panic set in with Norwich fans at the moment. Personally I think we've probably started this season brilliantly when you look at our performances. Grant Holt has always taken a while to start, and although he didn't play well against West Ham was pretty good against Spurs where he set up a goal. It's the whole not having faith in Hughton because he isn't Paul Lambert. I think we are actually playing better football and Hughton has made better signings than Lambert. Anyway, I think if we were top of the table their will be Norwich fans like that.
Not sure its panic Yellow. Its probably more a frustration that games that most people had marked us down for a win in have been drawn (qpr and w.ham at home). Id say I would have expected us to have 6 points not 3 at this stage. I wont lie, I was pretty desperate for us to have a win by now looking at our next few games. I know no game is easy but those two are definately no better than us and we did fail to take our chances. With this said the blame is being aimed at our talisman from last year . Its nothing really. Once we and he get going our and Grants slow start will be forgotten. Like I said, frustration at missed opportunities, not quite panic yet.
Bedford I disagree, their is definite panic, properly instilled form the Fulham game and just has just stuck. in all fairness last season we missed out on two winnable games in our first 4 games. West Brom and Wigan. We actually have more points this season than we did last season after 4 games, I know it's early on in the season, but I think their is a slight doom and gloom at the club at the moment and I think it's to do with Lambert not being in charge. I really do. The boo at Hughton's substitute on Saturday is example of that. I agree about the so called lack of goals frustration as well, we haven't been free scoring admittedly but apart from Fulham our defence has been brilliant. I think we've started season pretty well. QPR and West Ham I think will both survive and I think one of them will finish top half so not all too disappointed with the results, trickier games than Wigan and West Brom last season in my opinion. West Ham I think will do well this season I think, Diame has started the season brilliant for them and I think Carroll will be a great player for them this season. Back to Norwich though I think the goals will come, we're still trying to find our rhythm a bit, wrong to boo Holt as personally I would be worried if he started the season differently to how he has previously.
I can't see where the goals are going to come from,Compared to last season we just look toothless. If we are going to rely on draws we are going to need a lot of them.
If I hear that Holt is a slow starter again, I'll effin scream. He is supposed to been trained and up to speed from game 1. I'll tell my directors that I won't be doing much from 7.30 until 9 as I'm a slow starter! They will have evry sympathy and so will our customers.
ILD I'll happily do a swap. I'll give you the guy who makes farting noises behind me for this moaning guy!
That's nothing mate, I sat in N & P once near the corner of the Watling stand and some toothless bloody arsehole just stood there and slagged our team of the whole game! It was Wigan we were playing and we did ok. Not just speaking about it but shouting too, the whole game.
Totally agree. There IS NO excuse for this every year - Holt's season begins on the same day as everyone else's, and so should his preparation for that season
Got her home on Sunday, she's in remarkable shape thanks, supposed to be confined to bed for a few more days! Will know if there's any lasting issues after the first check up, (Friday this week)!! I've got someone in to look after her so I'm back at work.
