You know, there was a time when I had a bit of a soft spot for Villa. I once went, to a game with a friend from school, because his dad was a Villan, and they had a spare ticket. It was a really enjoyable day, I was welcomed by the Aston Villa fans, who were made aware of my footballing alliance, and I didnt get any stick from them at all. Granted, I cant really see a group of middle aged men taking the piss out of a 13 year old. But nonetheless I was made to feel welcome. And, from then on, because of how nice their fans where to me, I gained a soft spot for Villa. I'd keep a check on their results, and was always glad to see them do well (obviously when it came to them playing us, I wanted them to get shat on). I even had one of my best football manager campaigns with them too, which again made me like them that little bit more.

However on May 24th 2009, this all changed. On a day when things couldnt have been made much worse for the toon, Aston Villa fans went down so much in my estimations. The laughing, jeering and general abuse we recieved, from a fanbase I cant really recall us having many problems with before, was ****ing appaling. Even after the game walking back to my Dad's car the abuse I was getting from their fans was disgusting. At this point, I was still a scrowny 16 year old, who in all honestly looked 14. This not only frightened the hell out of me, but it really upset me. I hadnt ever had anything like this happen to me before, not even by Smoggies or Mackems. It really put me off going to football away games, which up untill that point, I enjoyed more than going to SJP.

So, as the Villa game fast approaches all I can say is....I hope we beat those ****ers so badly! Yes, the 6-0 was sweet. But to do them over, even by 1-0 will be just awesome. Not only because it'll be revenge. But because it will push them even further into trouble, and will finally, finally give me a chance to gloat back to them. Now, im not usually a person who 'likes' to see other teams perform badly, but for just this one time, in the words of the good man himself "I would love it if we could beat them. Love it".

Aston Villa may well be the most boring team in English football. How ironic then that, being so plain, their suffix sounds like vanilla.

I'd love to see us beat them too. It'd be great if our away fans still acted as nice as owt; obviously celebrating the win but not jeering the fans on the way out the way they did to us. Rise above it to show what aresholes they are.

Personally, I can't see us getting anything down there. They need a win and we don't and I think the lads will take their eye off the ball. Plus we have a patched together midfield and they have forwards with pace, arguably where our defense is **** (I'm thinking back to the arsenal game where Walcott made Colo look like he was standing still or the bolton game where colo got sent off). Still if we can get an early goal who knows...

I really hope we go down there and smash them again like, but even a last gap 1-0 or 2-1 would do me, we only need another win to guarantee safety you would think, so hopefully Pardew will have them fired up to get that win, also a lot of the players will remember this as the ground they were relegated on, even this in itself could be a massive boost to get out there and turn the twats over. I know it would be if I was playing.

Yeah they need bringing down a peg or two. Wouldn't mind a couple more Laaandaaan clubs going down too though. They have such an advantage playing so many away games on their doorstep. Could do with the smoggies coming back...

But in all fairness the smoggies will probably go into administration soon and their fans will be locked up for child abuse/drug dealing...

I'd like to have a few Yorkshire teams back in the Prem, only Leeds seem likely for that though :/ Obviously for me, it couldnt be any closer. But I'd rather it be Barnsley lol.

Barnsley are a nice friendly club but I don't think they're ready for promotion yet. Leeds would be more likely candidates.

I think that most Newcastle fans would echo your sentiments and hope that we beat them and play a big part in their relegation by taking 6 points from them.

I hope that the players realise how much a win would mean to the fans, and I am sure that they do.
