Exactly: If City draw here- and draw against West Ham (two unlikely, but possible results) and we only need a win against Newcastle (A likely result). Also- of City win tonight- they're going to have very little pressure on the final night. A draw- and they'll be sweating going into Sunday- that could make 'em drop more points. Losing to us screwed them up the week after.
The chance of Villa sneaking a late win from a penalty or set piece is literally zero. Just enjoy the football lads #jinx
The way I see this... no loss for us now. The title is City's. If they win- meh, foregone conclusion- we've already mourned the passing of the silver. If they draw- OK, makes the final game more interesting... who knows... maybe.., just maybe.... If the lose... that's celebration time... we would still have work to do and could slip again- but knowing the title was back in our own hands would be exciting. It might be best for us that Villa don't score anytime soon- that would awaken the dragon. Best if Villa keep it level and get a goal late.
Can't understand why £ity fans are so nervous. They can afford to draw and its not like Villa are going to score tonight
Not just the City fans, the players look nervous up front. As for Villa, to be fair when they've gone forward they've passed the ball really well. I wouldn't be surprised if they give the sucker punch.
They may if City coninue to pummel them, they are so open at the back. Weiman could have scored on the break. But yea, unlikely.
I'm sure it's the same nerve problems as a cup final when you have one small team and one big team. The small team that are expected to lose- have nothing to lose- and the big team runs into anxiety issues and occasionally collapse. It's what did us in at Palace those last 10 or so mins... so far ahead and expected to win- Palace had nothing to lose and pasted us. The longer it stays nil nil the better Villa's chances. If City don't get a goal by the hour mark they could start getting frustrated and nervous... depends on how well they've been mentally coached. If Villa do score- it might awaken City though... I think City become more deadly once they concede.
If Villa did score they'd need to do so with less than 10 minutes left, to have a decent chance of holding onto the lead. They won't score though because they don't have any quality upfront. The only way they could is if City make a huge mistake in defence.
