IM BACK! : ) My voice ... " I wouldn't even teach my son to do that" at under 11's level. After watching Lumley(who I don't blame one bit) and our defence constantly and willingly commit suicide. I respect any man that stands his ground. You might be a great fighter, but if you don't have the skills to match, you are going to get sparked out . K.O . Career over at Saints. Tonight sorry! I like Martin, nice guy, but he ain't getting up from this .... SS
Trying to dredge up some sort of hope for this game but it's difficult after last night. The spark after the second half at Brighton is pretty well out. Aston Villa's win last night against Brentford after what has been a lean patch for them make the odds against getting anything from the game pretty long. I don't feel much like watching, may change when Saturday comes, not much heart for it at the moment.

Looking forward to this. Hopefully there's plenty more gallows humour from the fans and anti-Martin stuff. We lost 4-0 on my previous trip to Villa Park so we might improve on that. 3-1 I reckon.
I'm expecting us to gift them at least one goal from losing possession in our own half under minimal pressure.
Taken from a future Daily Echo article: In a surprising turn of form yesterday, Southampton overcame Aston Villa 3-1. The Saints who were trailing one-nil, scored two goals in quick succession before adding a third late into injury time. Asked what turned the game an undisclosed footballer pointed to fans who had snuck into Staplewood last week and erected mirrors around the ground. "It suddenly became apparent to us that d**king around with the ball at the back wasn't really the target and we should d**k around with the ball in the opponent's penalty area where we might be a little more effective." Asked if he would change his tactics, manager Russel Martin sang two bars of "Anything Goes" from the eponymous musical. This, a Sports Republic spokesmen later revealed, was not a deviation from Martin's standard tactics, but rather a statement of his commitment to continual showboating. The mirrors remain at Staplewood.
Russ Ball Bingo. In which minute will we give up the first chance for Villa, by passing them the ball in our own area? I’m going for the 6th minute. High Press by Watkins, Goal.
