Alex McLeish is ready to anger Birmingham and Aston Villa fans in equal measure with a £10million raid on the Blues to sign his former goalkeeper Ben Foster. Villa owner Randy Lerner was handed a list of potential transfer targets by McLeish during their discussions last night. The ex-Blues boss is thought to have finalised his contract to take over at Villla Park during the meeting. McLeish made brining in a keeper his number one priority with Brad Friedel having walked out to sign for Tottenham last month. The 28-year-old's move would be dependant on Blues being happy to deal with Villa after McLeish's acrimoniousness exit and the subsequent threats of legal action. But the temptation to balance the books after their relegation might prove too great for Birmingham. Villa have also been linked with Blues centre-back Scott Dann.
