We already have Gyan, Ji Dong-Won deal looks a formality. Now if we get N'gog as well (I know this one has gone a bit quiet) do you think we have enough fire-power up-front with these 4 strikers or do you still feel we need that proven goal scorer?

Since we clearly still need a winger, imo a left back and at least one full back would any money left to spend be better securing better quality, more expensive players in these positions.

With the players we've already agreed to sign in midfield plus a new attacking winger surely the supply line to these forwards would create enough chances for any of the 4 mentioned to get on the scoresheet?

Get DW, get Ryan on loan and with our new medical team get Mr. Campbell back before Xmas.

Canny forward line. Think SB's tactics have changed, could well be 2-1-7 formation next season

Mag opinion here, but no way in fooking hell.

Gyan - good player but had a bit of a goal drought towards the end of last season on his own
Ji Dong-Won - Has potential, but is completely unproven and may need a few seasons to develop
Wickham - Completely unproven, very young, may need a few seasons to develop
N'Gog - 9 goals in 63 apps, including 2 goals in 25 apps last season, so he's never been any good, but maybe he'll improve. Maybe?

If Gyan got injured you guys would have three strikers who have never been able to prove that they can score a decent number of goals in the top flight. If it were us I'd be ****ting myself.

    Need another top striker. 110%

I'd hate to see us sign N'gog now. We could have Wickham and Dong for youth, get someone proven.

I hear what your saying but Sess could be used behind front man, plus Bruce seems to be looking for players who will score goals from midfield, where we suffered badly last season. where do you get another Darren Bent from? The problem is IMHO that clubs in the prem are not willing to look for young talent in the lower leagues and give them a chance. Kevin Phillips is a prime example, cost buttons and went on to win the golden boot in the prem. I believe football fans these days demand instant success, journalists demand instant success as do tv pundits. So unless you hit the ground running then you are ****e??? Newcastle have signed a few guys from abroad and they are going to need time e.g more than three games. As would the Sunderland recruits. Wickham has been hyped for 2 years, the big clubs are interested, Sunderland have made a statement that they want Wickham and at the same time have said to the big clubs if you want him now then pay. OF course the player has a say but he's young and could still come to Sunderland and move on to bigger and better things (unless he fails then you's can have him). It's a gamble and we may not get him but I like that we are trying these things. I do feel with every year were are with Quinny and co we are getting smarter with negotiations. By the way have any Newcastle fans forgiven Fat Mike yet. I'm not joking when I say I think he's doing well at Newcaslte. The Sheppard way could not be sustained and he seems to be putting you on a good footing.....

If Whickham does sign i think he is just what we need up front the lad is 6'4" he is old fashioned english CF. TBH a lot like Andy Carroll Good in the air very strong and the lad is only 18 he can only get better with time.

If he does sign i would still like us to sign another forward who is proven in the PL maybe someone like,

    Bellamy, Zamora, Rodallega,Doyle,Welbeck

Next season one of the above with Gyan, Dong & Whickham. Also Frazier when he comes back will do for me plenty of options.

<applause><applause> Mind you if you really have to have one Rene Higuita of Columbia would be worth the price of admission for the entertainment value alone! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmcaHehRM6M

We still need another proven prem striker and Rodellega would do the job but I rate Odimwinge at West Brom as well.

Bruce still has something up his sleeve, he is no mug when it comes to forwards and people need to start realising it. I mean last season we started off with Campbell, Bent, Gyan & Welbeck, which were all his own signings and that is arguably the best forward line SAFC has ever seen but through no fault of his own it fell apart.

So far we have Gyan & an injured Campbell with Noble looking likely to go out on a seasons loan. Adding to this Dong Won & lets say Whickham for now then I really think Welbeck will come in on another season long loan as cover until Campbell regains fitness. Also as previously mentioned we have Sessegnon who can play upfront thanks to some experiments back end of last season.

Ultimately we will have a forward line for the 2011/2012 season of Gyan/Whickham/Dong Won/Welbeck/Campbell when fit & Sessegnon.

This leaves us with the left wing, left back & centre back positions to spend money on, I would rather these positions be filled with quality then adding another £10 million pound striker as the balance of the team is extremely important and with the right balance the chances for goals will come.

Only flaw with my prediction is the ACON, when Gyan leaves we are pretty untested upfront but I trust Bruce to deliver a fierce frontline for next season.
