i d still confidently suggest that most of what you say you read is based on a briefing with experienced, or in many cases based on budgets, inexperienced, writers.
I can absolutely cast iron guarantee that one of those ALWAYS wrote his own notes. But Mussie raises a valid point, although it really depends on the individual. Some managers and chairmen always wrote their own notes, some never have, some dip in now and again, some demand final approval if they are ghost written, some literally have no interest, dont want to know what was written and wouldnt know a single word written in their name in any programme. Who falls into which category might surpise you.
Pre season programmes are always poor, we have had one of the best match day programmes for years. It used to come top 10 regularly a few years ago, haven't heard anything last few years but can't see much difference!
All Hull City need to do to make a great matchday programme even better is to have siome match action shots. Not had any for 2 years at least. Well worth £3 though.
Hard to have match action shots when we've not had any match action. Why does the cover of the program look like it's been designed by someone using a maths exercise book and a photocopier?
Yeah it looks gash. I also don't get why the club uses 'City' to market itself, surely 'Tigers' would be much more effective?
