The three employees I am thinking of have all had over 4 years to leave Duchatelet’s employment. Not 6 months or even 12 months ...4 years.
for not changing into a suit in time for kick off. like someone who's only job is to tweet needs a suit on.
Red Henry says the Aussie deal fell apart last week. From very hopeful to be patient to fell apart in the space of 7 days eh #WUMFest
Statement from the Aussies today, according to Dutton. Threats to take his statue back withdrawn. Shall we play “Aussie bingo” ? - “great fans” - “very hopeful” - “be patient”
Imminent.....statement today.....patience..... Life is to short to worry about this rubbish. NLA and Angel Dust seem reliable enough. It's off. The rest is just the same boring talk we've been hearing for months.
All the information coming through the Club and the SLP indicates Duchatelet intends to continue as CAFC owner for the forseeable future. Perhaps today's statement from the Australian Consortium will be that it is withdrawing its interest in the Club. The unending take-over narrative has been spectacularly successful in keeping anti-RD protests quiet for the last six months. Granted there was also the hope of promotion - something I am not sure we will see repeated this season. I would not be surprised at all if this 'unending take-over' now continues, with comments coming from Richard Murray every month or so about possible future buyers etc. No doubt CARD and ROT and the Belgium 20 will be considering their long term response to this strategy.
JS has already said it won't be a 'done deal' statement, so it'll be... 'Be patient'...again 'We are working hard to get it completed' 'We're still checking to see if there's a spare million or two down the sides of our sofas'
When Roland appoints his own CEO and financial officer I'll take it as official that the take-over is off, but until then trust nobody.
I don't get the impression that fans will be bought off with warm Aussie platitudes this time. "Very hopeful" and "be patient" and "great fans" is all very nice & patronising, but when you are 6 weeks into pre season in Division 3 with only ten players and can't afford a pre season tour - you expect a bit more. The Aussies have rapidly gone from "anyone is better than Duchatelet" to "are this lot really going to be better than Duchatelet?"
He's quite capable of filling these positions last minute. 'Soon' and this Charlton takeover don't go hand in hand... We first heard of interest in 2017, and sure we'll be sold one day, but the question now is, in what year..?
