Rich Cawley has just Tweeted that he understands it is "highly likely" that both Konsa and Lookman will be sold in January.

    And so it begins again.

The Karl Robinson bounce lasted all of a week.

Are any of us really surprised at this news?

They have deliberately fed Cawley that story today to lay the ground work.

"Charlton are determined to get Lookman back on loan"

Wow - are we supposed to feel grateful ?

Don't forget we should be thankful to see the stars from the Academy before they are sold to a Premiership Club. I wonder if Robinson was told before he signed.

Surprised at Konsa going so soon. The only Academy product left of any value is Dillon Phillips. I assume he'll get a run in the first team to boost his value for a summer sale. That's not to say he couldn't make a profit on Magennis and Holmes though. As Dickp says, we must hope this is leading up to him selling up. Could this be why Congo Chris is here, as a sort of accountant advising him on the market value of his assets?

She had her fingers crossed when she said that. Not many people noticed that.

Surely moderate January investment for a promotion push, if successful, would increase Konsa's and Lookman's values?

They could be Championship players in the summer with full promotion-winning League One campaigns behind them...

The continuing lack of footballing business acumen from KM is astounding, but not surprising.

At the Scunthorpe FA Cup tie I was sat next to a scout who was specifically there to watch Konsa. If I were Ezil I would look at the example of Diego Poyet, and get another 50 appearances under my belt for Charlton.

After the events of the last 24 hours I am increasingly convinced that Karl Robinson will only get 15-20 games like the rest of them, and will be replaced by O'Loughlin... which is what Duchatelet wanted all along.

That light at the end of the tunnel turned out to be another oncoming express train, driven by Meire.

We have two difficult games coming up. Peterborough and Millwall are games that we could easily lose. If we do, the pressure mounts on Robinson, especially if they sell Lookman and Konsa and don't bring in decent players.

I wonder how many times KR will bring up Dele Allis name when Lookman is sold?

When he first took over Robinson was very impressed by the fact that Roland and his CEO had promised him everything he asked for in the interview. Now he's about to discover how much verbal assurances are worth! The leak to the SLP by the CEO is a shot across his bows.

Just why did the club announce (leak) that they were about to sell Lookman and Konsa?
To put Robinson in his place?
    To pi55 off the fans?
    To keep Roland happy?
    To motivate the team:emoticon-0149-no:

    A bit of all 4.

Meire wouldn't have liked the Gobby Scouser's comments about how he was going to stamp his authority at Charlton - we don't do that sort of thing here.

The leaking of the Lookman/Konsa story to Richard Cawley really was a classic of its kind, even for this mob. I loved the bit "the Club are going to FIGHT HARD to bring Lookman back on loan" <laugh> You could see from the kid's motivation yesterday just how useful this would be. Just imagine the conversation that Lookman will have with Ronald Koeman at the training ground on his first day.

Koeman: "Right Ade, forget about playing with Lukaku and Ross Barkley this season, you are going back to play with Morgan Fox and Andrew Crofts"

    No. Me neither. <doh>

No positive signs at the early stage of the transfer window. The Lookman money really is a windfall, considering he didn't even come through our Academy, and as for the prospect of getting £1m for Fox, well that sort of gift won't come along for a long time. So this season there should be a big push for promotion. Robinson deserves proper backing, and if he gets it, he'll get the backing of the fans too( me for one). If we don't go up, and Roland has another firesale in the summer to cover his losses the future will be bleak. Roland will find out how lucky he's been so far with the likes of Cousins, Gomez, Lookman, Fox, THD, Pope, even Fox, probably Aribo and Phillips if we don't go up subsidising his little game. This flow of talent comes in phases, and he has been the beneficiary of a productive spell. The signs are that he is taking them for granted. We'll see.

Ben Hayes has posted on CL that he has been told Karl Robinson's January transfer budget is £400,000 including wages. I doubt that will get us one signed player. We are looking at 2/3 loans if that figure is correct.

"Robinson has been given 5% of the Lookman fee for new players and wages".

Pathetic - but looks very much as though the Lookman fee is going on covering the losses.

Hayes has said he was given that information by someone who would know - Richard Murray I assume.
