Liverpool have a new No.9 - Iago Aspas. The club confirmed today that the Spaniard would take the shirt vacated by Andy Carroll Simon Mignolet, meanwhile, will take the No.22 shirt last worn by Danny Wilson.

Think you should have to earn 9 but then Sturridge has only been around for a few months as well. We still have no 11 to redistribute, most likely. If MK signs what will he wear? 17?
22 was Simon's number at Sunderland wasn't it? As with others, I'm quite surprised that Aspas got the number 9 but it shouldn't really matter. Looking forward to seeing our new attackers - Aspas and Alberto, but I really do hope we get Henri Mkhi and keep Suarez.
I'm not in the 'keep Suarez at all costs' camp but it will certainly make for a stronger squad should he stay AND we get Henri Ryan.
I should rephrase - I hope we get Henri, and either we keep Suarez or replace him with another marquee signing with the proceeds.
