Unpopular opinion here but…. I’d start him on the bench when he comes back. he can break up the fluidity of our play at times and the team has to come first. if it ain’t broke don’t fix it…
That seems to be how Eddie operates - if somebody has been out and the team does well eithout them, then they come back on the bench rather than straight in the starting 11. Seems fair enough I think. We can't afford any player assuming they are a guaranteed starter, there needs to be competition for places all across the pitch. ASM can change a game. Yes, he has been frustrating at times, but I think he's top quality. I think he just felt the need to do it all by himself, whereas now the team is playing a much more offensive style and pressing forward more. But agree, he should start on the bench. More to do with sticking to principles than because of his ability. Everyone needs to earn their place and respect the manager's decisions.
I heard that the reason why he didn't play against West ham is that he refused to go by bus? No idea if true. He's also out with an alleged "knock"
I’d put him straight back in. Murphy is ****e. Just like I’d put Trippier back in because Krafth is ****e. Wood isn’t ****e and has worked hard, but Wilson brings goals so he’d go straight back in too. Leave it up to Eddie though.
Hopefully he doesn't have 'attitude problems' then. But if so then he won't be here next season. If we go down (looking less likely now) he won't want to stay. If we stay up, then we will be going big and Eddie won't have time to be dealing with prima donnas disrupting the dressing room. But hopefully it's nothing and he will be back in the team soon.
I think he goes straight back in for Murphy with a big BUT….. He has to do the tracking back and play in the team. The team seems more balanced when he is not in it.
Personally I would also put all 3, in once fit, but just not sure that's Eddie's way. I'd also try Bruno ahead of Shelvey to see how that works. I hope we get to see this line-up this season. ASM...........Wilson.........Fraser ...Joelinton..Bruno..Willock Targett...Burn...Schar...Trippier .................Dubs
I'm not sure if he'll go straight back in or not. However, if he does go straight back in then I can't see how he can do that without starting Bruno. It would be a difficult situation for him to be saying to Bruno that he can't start him because the others don't deserve to be dropped, and then drop someone from a winning team to make room for Maxi.
Nah sounds like horseshit. He was pictured in a cryo chamber in the lead up to yesterday’s game. Clearly does have an injury. It’ll just be people **** stirring. Eddie had intimated maybe 2-3 weeks and he hasn’t been seen on training pitch.
I think this is how we will end the season. The only one I doubt is Bruno. Shelvey is playing incredibly well at present. I still think it won’t last though.
The longer it goes though the more I will worry for Willock. He's young and more likely to have a drop off
Jonjo is certainly making the situation tricky. Typical really. Spends about 5 seasons playing well 1 in 10, hardly lifting a finger, we sign a Brazilian and all of sudden he doesn’t have a bad game and is trying his best. Where have the petulant little kicks gone? I think Willock brings too much tactically - aside from his goals. He’s one of our most intelligent footballers. Which is weird because he comes across as thick as **** I think he might just keep scoring now. I’m thinking the Chelsea game for Jonjo to finally blow it.
Absolutely not. Who would we be sacrificing him for? Murphy? If it was Fraser then maybe, but ASM must start when he comes back. Murphy offers little going forward. No way should this guy be starting if ASM is fit. He's so below par. You could easily argue we would have beaten WHU if we had ASM, which I believe would have done. WHU were there for the taking, and we've often seen Murphy and Fraser both go together on that left had side to compensate. We wouldn't have walked all over Brentford like we did at times if they had 11 men. ASM has to start when we play him, unless he's not fit.
He has never looked the fittest lad it has to be said. He can empty towards the end of games. He looked a bit leggy at times yesterday. I think he looks the type though that will fit in well when we have multiple options like a proper club. I think he can then empty himself in 60mins, or have impact from the bench. I’ve got nothing against Shelvey (I know you dislike him ) but I can’t forgive his lack of effort at times. The last two games I’ll hold my hands up, he’s been even better again. He’s stopped not tracking or waving his arms to pass people on. I’m a bit confused by it all, I just assumed he’d revert to type. Maybe Eddie is god.
He looked ok yesterday at best, but we were handed a free pass by that awful challenge. The rest of the games he’s been crap. His crossing rate is about 1 in 20.
If he plays like he's been doing, scores a goal then comes off after 60-70 mins, then that's ok. We can always put Bruno on in his place to give him some time.
I don't just dislike him I hate him. He's an awful example of a human being. And as you say he lacks effort almost every game ala Shola. He thinks he better than he actually is. However he is one of those players that would look world class surrounded by ten other world class players. I hate his long balls. He's genuinely not even good at it. He's like certain people who throw lots of **** and eventually one **** sticks to the wall.
