in the rules of the game that says if a team is leading at half time and its that team's kick off at the start of the second half that team actually has to kick off and restart the game? After watching England women beat Norway the other night in a generally watchable game they then spent injury time totally legally keeping the ball in the corner. If it is legal not to kick off again Its a great tactic.
The ref would just book them for time wasting presumably, resulting in a free kick for the opposition. The same as any set piece really.
How do you know that? Does it actually say in the rules you have to kick off again cos if it does not then you don't have to.
I'm sure it says somewhere in the rules that once the refereee has blown his whistle to start the next phase of play, the players have an amount of time that will come down to the referee's discretion to play the ball, if they fail to do so, the referee will call 'foul play'. I'm not gonna dig around in the rule book for your benefit.
The ref either add about 40 minutes of stoppage time. Or do what Terry said. Its such a stupid question imo. The refs whistle is an instruction to the team kicking off to kick off and the ball isn't in play until they kick it. You can't finish a game thst doesnt start.
You would never win anyway cos the game wouldn't ever be completed as the ball isn't in play. **** sake.
Kick off is a dead ball situation, When the ref blows to commence play if you don't you can be booked for time wasting. Simple as that.
The ref would book them but it would still be them to kick off. If the ball is dead then nothing can change the next action. If they continued to refuse to take kick off then the ref would keep booking players until there had been more than four sendings off from that team, at which point the ref would abandon the game. It's like if a team has a corner which hasn't been taken yet and a defender thumped an attacking player in the penalty box then the defender would be sent off but it would still be a corner and not a penalty as the ball is not in play.
Random thoughts entering head do not necessarily a good post make. That must be wise, because I sound like Yoda...
It's not quite but the ref would book them (and, as the ball is not in play, the watch would be stopped and subsequent time added on) so, as per nmg's previous pointless question of "what if you kicked off facing the wrong way second half?" It's a completely pointless question!
I Agree, all his input seems to be build on either stupidity or naivety. If he's a child which he could well be I wish he'd say, so we can treat him as so and cut him as slack, I mean look at his list of threads. please log in to view this image So many questions! Everything is new!
