what are everyones thoughts on him now? in my opinion he has made very big mistakes and ill be honest i wanted him out for a long time but now im starting to think hes making some good decisions i mean for example; Nolan wanted 5 years he got offerd 4 and he turned it down... Nolan was a brilliant player and a leader i wish he hadnt left but at the end of the day its GREED! Barton and you will all disagree with me but barton has only played 1 whole season for us, a jail sentince and injurys have stopped i think Bartons brilliant and would love to see him sign a new contract but maybe a 3 year deal or even a 2 year deal isnt too bad and he should accept he owes Newcastle alot remember 2 years of even 10 grand a week would sort most people out never mind what ever he wants also Newcastle are one of Very few clubs who are going to be ready for the new financial law in football we are running smooth and healthy we are also looking at younger talent for cheaper which is surelly a good think, yes splash the cash on good proven players but also go for the talent that graham carr picks up! its just my opinion that ashley is slightly turning it around, i still think hes made big mistakes but now maybe he will prove us all wrong... id still like to see some of the 35 million to be spent before the end of the transfer market like Id like to think we have a good owner... although im being very optimistic
at least he has a plan and is making sure we stick to it. You can disagree with it all you like but IMO it's better than not having one
Still hate him, would still have anyone else over him in a heartbeat. He ****s up countless times, (but because he's unwilling to spend much money we happen to be in a decent financial situation) and people forgive him every single time. Cant wait til the day he leaves.
I don't disagree with his plan I just don't like the bloke Ashley needs a Geordie accent then I might give him some of my time lol
Anyone who gets Derek Llambias to run naked across the SJP pitch and changes the name of our sacred stadium just for the sake of making mugs out of us, is not worthy of our club.
He knows nothing about football and how to run a football club. But he does know about business and how to run a business. NUFC are both these things.
He makes some good business decisons but ****s us over when it comes to our personal feelings. Destroying the leazes corner, painting his ****ing sports direct signs everywhere, so whenever an away team comes, they see a huge big piece of **** on the top of our stadium. He renamed the stadium sportsdirect.com@stjamespark, he's threatening to shut down Shearers bar, a tribute to the biggest legend ever played in a Newcastle shirt. He also sacked Hughton for no reason, when only a week earlier he said he was fully behind him. I don't full agree with all this sign them young thing, because not every player is crock when he reaches 30. Why the **** would you not sign on your star player when he;s in the form of his life and could still play a could 4-6 years yet. Signing players of Barton's age might be a bit of a gamble, but it's an even bigger risk buying nearly all your players either injured, failing a medical or from abroad and unproven in the PL. Hatem Ben Arfa gets a 5 year contract when he's played one game and has a broken leg, yet that's not as big of a risk as signing a 28 year old in good shape on a 4 year contract is it? There's some integrity in Mike Ashley's methods, but he also doesn't seem to think at times either. I don't want him out right now, but after he's given us this summers transfer money, and the club looks stable, he should sell it for a half decent offer.
Can you forgive the man that ****ed us over? I can't deep down unless we win something but then it all won't be his doing so I'll never forgive him never
He's a good businessman, but that's it. Rather a good businessman with no feelings for the club than an idiot like Shepherd and his cronies drowning us in debt and still siphoning off for personal gain.
was being optomistic will never forgive him for ****in us over at the begining of season when we had got some stability
My opinion of him is beginning to change.still bitter over the whole Keegan and Houghton saga but things move on, and even though some of the decisions he has made have been shocking, i can't help but feel glad we're a bit more stable financially and that with the new rules set to come in, thats perfect for us. When Carroll was sold i thought " You fat ****ing ****", but then i looked at the bigger picture and then thought " it's £35 million, and if it's invested right, we could push forward". There is no doubt that he can make some outrages and foolish decision when he wants to, but his plan of buying : young, cheap and affordable players is a good plan and it fills me with excitment for the up and coming season. With that being said, i still don't fully trust him. With Mike Ashley there always seems to be another stupid decision around the corner and he's proven that so many times, but with the current signings i like the direction the club is taking, i only hope that we don't sell the likes of Tiote, Barton, Colo and Jonas, but you never know with the soap-opera that is our beloved club Newcastle United.
Dislike him as a person, he has trust issues and doesn't like not being in control. So he will always have problems with his employees in powerful positions. As a person with a business mind he will always look out for number 1. I do sports Business management at uni and we looked at a case study on MA and how he was doing some unethical things within sports direct one of his board members tried to convince him to change but MA simply told him to stop being stupid and to do his job so board member went to the press and it damaged the image of the company. But he is great with numbers and know's how to make a profit and build a business and therefore increase the growth of the club. So I'm happy with MA but will never be pleased with him.
