The sun and other sources claiming Williams is to have a medical at rangers. Decent player and probably a more realistic signing than some that have been mentioned so far.
We have indeed been linked with him before. If this materialises then it adds weight to Tony Fernandes' desire for a different approach to recruitment for EPL14/15. It would also pour cold water over reports suggesting ageing veterans - Rio Ferndinand and Jolean Lescott - are W12 bound. This news inspires me.... let's wait and see.
If we start signing players of that calibre I will definitely get another season ticket as the last two in the Prem were hard to take.
I'd probably prefer Dawson, if fit, but I think this may be a shrewd move. In our price range, solid player not scared with the ball at his feet.
Is he out of contract or something? Played 39 games for the Swans last season, hardly seems surplus to requirements. Nice idea though.
I know this is in the sun, so we probably have to say it is a load of rubbish. But the more i think about the more i think it would be a good buy for us. So how often do the Sun actually get it right. I mean throw enough **** at the wall something will stick.
Would be pleased with this if it came off...for me, a centre back of 30 is fine, still another couple of good years, and lots of experience to draw on. As others have mentioned though, I'd be surprised if Swansea let him go.
I thought the same last year about Danny Simpson when he was prized away from Newcastle United. Perhaps a move to London? Who knows. If we have a serious intent, then your question is the key tenant of any negotiation. I do hope that this is more than just idle tabloid speculation.
This one's a bit more like it. I agree with daverangers, CBs in the 29/30 bracket aren't too bad. As long as we didn't offer him a 4 year contract or anything silly, I'd take him
