Bringing Ashley to Swansea for £400,000.00 was a terrific piece of business. What's he worth now? £15,000,000.00 ?

He had the choice of coming here,or going to the "other place",and I seem to remember John Toshack urging him to join The Swans'.

Wisely,he came here, and the rest,as they say,is history. Although there are many more historical chapters yet to be written in his footballing carreer.

He has thrived at Swansea, and I dread to think where he would be now had he chosen to join "the hoofers".

Even a better piece of business was buying out his sell on clause !

Seems to me it was about 100,000 to Stockport County at the end of last season I think .

he is trying to make the everton game, i hope he can but not unless he is 100% fit, after all he has played to many games without a break and if he comes back to early could cause more problems in the long run, we have monk to cover him at the moment and i would rather him take another week off if he is not absolutely 100% ready.....

Yes I saw that in the EP Dai. Only he knows if he's fit enough. I worry about Monk at this level but he did a decent job last week fair play.

I dont like it when a player says he is ready as he is itching to play and could easily think he is ready when in fact he is not quite there. the swans pay good money who's job it is to determine if a player is fit or not and it is they who should make the decision and not ash. He is far to important player for us to get it wrong....I hope he is passed fit to play against everton all the same..

Good article, good read and very true, Ash has been solid for us from the moment he put on a Swans shirt, one of my favourite players!.................
